Van woensdag 23 juli tot en met vrijdag 25 juli werden er in de buurt van de onderhoudsbasis van Le Coucou op L94 testritten uitgevoerd met de nieuwe NMBS HLE 1703. Aan de haak van de locomotief hingen er 4 I11-rijtuigen en dat scheelde weer een hoop nabewerking 😇. Als angstloc bolde dan ook nog de HLE 1823 achteraan mee.
De HLE 17 is een nieuwe generatie elektrische locomotieven voor de NMBS, gebouwd door Alstom. Het gaat hierbij om de derde generatie van de Traxx en er werd een bestelling opgemaakt voor vijftig locomotieven. De eerste vaste order bedraagt 24 locomotieven ter waarde van ongeveer 120 miljoen euro.
De locomotieven zullen kunnen rijden onder 1,5 kV en 3 kV gelijkspanning, en 15 kV en 25 kV wisselspanning. Bovendien zullen de locomotieven uitgerust worden met de beveiligings- en signaleringssystemen ETCS, TBL1+, ATB en LZB/PZB. Hierdoor zullen ze inzetbaar zijn op zowel Belgische, Nederlandse en Duitse spoorwegen. Ze kunnen een maximumsnelheid bereiken van 200 km/h.
Nadat de locomotief in de ochtend van 23 juli vanuit Schaarbeek was overgebracht naar Ath, konden de electromagnetische compatibiliteitstesten onder 3 kV= later op de dag starten - waarbij in de namiddag wel heel veel pauzes werden genomen: zo stond de testtrein tussen 14u en 15u gewoon een uur lang stil!
Maar goed, rond 15u30 zat de eerste testdag erop en keerde de trein terug naar het station van Ath. En tijdens die korte rit konden een groepje bekende spotters de trein in de mooie bocht van Arbre fotograferen.

From Wednesday, July 23rd, to Friday, July 25th, test runs were conducted on L94 near the Le Coucou maintenance base with the new NMBS HLE 1703. Four I11 carriages were attached to the locomotive's hook, which saved a lot of post-production work 😇. The HLE 1823 also rolled along as the fearsome locomotive.
The HLE 17 is a new generation of electric locomotives for the Belgian National Railway Company (NMBS/SNCB), built by Alstom. This is the third generation of the Traxx series, and an order has been placed for fifty locomotives. The first firm order is for 24 locomotives, worth approximately €120 million.
The locomotives will be capable of operating under 1.5 kV and 3 kV DC, and 15 kV and 25 kV AC voltages. Furthermore, the locomotives will be equipped with the ETCS, TBL1+, ATB, and LZB/PZB safety and signaling systems. This will make them suitable for use on Belgian, Dutch, and German railways. They can reach a top speed of 200 km/h.
After the locomotive was transferred from Schaarbeek to Ath on the morning of July 23rd, the electromagnetic compatibility tests under 3 kV= could begin later that day – with numerous breaks in the afternoon: the test train was stationary for an hour between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM!
Anyway, around 3:30 PM, the first day of testing was over and the train returned to Ath station. And during that short journey, I could take a picture of the train on the beautiful Arbre bend.

Whew. This release was an interesting one. I unfortunately have been out of town handling some family stuff. I had to leave pretty abruptly and was unable to bring ANY of my Flesh-related work files with me because of how last minute this trip was. Luckily, I was able to make it work BUT, you'll notice that this release is quite different from the usual Flesh release.
I was really fortunate to get to collab with my beth, Jack of BTTB for this reason. We brought you some runway spookiness and I hope you all love it!

Copenhagen Zoo also has a special giraffe house, where visitors can get closer to the animals and learn about their biology and the challenges they face in the wild.
The zoo plays an important role in giraffe conservation. It participates in international breeding programs to help ensure healthy populations of giraffes for the future. Keepers and educators at the zoo also work hard to teach the public about the importance of protecting giraffes’ natural habitats in Africa.

That's a panoramic false-color version of part 5 of the "lost gorge series". I'm not too happy with the highlights, but could be worse I guess (and that's something that blends in more nicely with b&w).
Have not developed or taken too many photos lately, because I'm working on a rather hefty side project!
I'm building a completely new system, that is suppost to facilitate the future of my (IR) photography; everything is updated, from OS to basically every photo related piece of software.
While I was up for that at some point, I do not regret the decision to not dismantel my current "old" system which is very able and efficient still, but to instead do the build in a VM (first). After some struggle to piece everything together, it then turned out that a bunch of workflows will not migrate smoothly, or port at all into the new system, due to lack of backwards compatibility. That's a nasty thought to have, believe me, given that I invested quite a bit into all these things (my current / old ways of doing stuff), and I still have tons of undeveloped photos from the fullspec D90.
Thankfully I made good advancements in that regard, but more on that later, parhaps.
I just wanted blurt this out (for the few peeps that read), that sort of the advent of the fullspectrum D3300 and consequently access to more wavelengths for IR, had this cascading yet necessary effect of reinventing a few (a lot actually) things, but also not neglecting, demolishing the legacy of the past. Still busy solving some issues, but I'm slowly moving on to creative things again.
Source for this is a 36 piece mercator projection, ~368MP, 24111 x 15261px.

今回は、子供中心で一泊したので、朝食前にちょっとだけ撮りに出かけました。ホテルの朝食が美味しかったです。:)

“Synopsis”
A Palestinian group from Gaza hacks into North Korea’s cryptocurrency system, stealing hundreds of millions of dollars. Their true goal is not money—but to recreate the lost homeland of Gaza on American soil.
Amid the backdrop of hardline Republican immigration policies and a growing wave of xenophobia, a quiet plan begins to take shape: the gradual collapse of America from within.
During a speech at Madison Square Garden, Republican presidential candidate Justin Bradford is shot. Almost simultaneously in Los Angeles, former president Owen Reed is attacked at a rally for Democratic hopeful Ryan Bennett.
Two assassinations—mirroring one another—ignite a nation’s deepest divide. Yet, against all odds, Justin survives. His blood type is one in 2.5 million: the Bombay Blood Group.
The only person who can donate such blood is Anaya Patel, a community art facilitator working in Brooklyn. Her blood, stored in the Bellevue Hospital Blood Bank, is used for an emergency transfusion that saves the candidate’s life.
Jack Vance, an agent of the U.S. Secret Service, suspects a Gaza-based network behind the attacks. Together with Cameron Bartlett, the FBI Director of the Los Angeles Field Office, and Veronica Reeves, a senior investigator from New York, he begins to uncover a vast conspiracy.
Their investigation leads them to Rafi Gannam, a former architecture student at the Islamic University of Gaza, who has infiltrated redevelopment sites across Los Angeles and New York—embedding C4 explosives deep within beams and structural cores.
His targets: new residential districts where agents of ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and ERO (Enforcement and Removal Operations) live—symbols of “the order America built.”
Veronica urges the President to pursue dialogue to prevent further destruction, but President Grant M. Ranford refuses to listen.
Meanwhile, the recovering Justin and his Democratic rival Ryan appear on national television, calling for unity beyond political divisions.
Their words of reason, however, are drowned out when Grant takes the stage in Iowa, defiantly declaring: “We will never bow to terror.”
Among the crowd, Rafi’s operatives have already taken their positions.
As chaos erupts and the stage collapses, Amir Nasser—once Rafi’s comrade, haunted by the memory of his sister’s death in Gaza—tries desperately to halt the chain of destruction.
But Rafi’s conviction remains unshaken.
Under the twilight beneath the Williamsburg Bridge, amid the city’s fading noise, the two men part ways.
It is the boundary between prayer and vengeance, between hope and nothingness.

Because of my child, I stayed one night at a hotel in Shinjuku. Except for the first two shots—the back entrance and the izakaya—I took everything within 30 minutes, starting at 6:00 a.m.
This time the trip was all about my child, so I only slipped out briefly before breakfast to take a few photos. The hotel breakfast was delicious. :)

共和党大統領候補ジャスティン・ブラッドフォードがマディソン・スクエア・ガーデンで演説中に狙撃され、ほぼ同時刻、ロサンゼルスでは前大統領オーウェン・リードもまた、民主党候補ライアン・ベネットの集会で撃たれる。
国家を二分する双方向の暗殺。だが、ジャスティンは奇跡的に生還する。

Niemieckie jednostki high speed podczas samodzielnej jazdy na magistrali E20. Zestaw dwóch pojazdów ICE3neo (BR408) wracał dziś z zakończonych testów dynamicznych prowadzonych na Centralnej Magistrali Kolejowej w ostatnich tygodniach.
Pociąg PXJ 276000/1 relacji Idzikowice - Rzepin w promieniach popołudniowego słońca jedzie szlakiem Poznań Górczyn - Palędzie po wielu niepewnych chwilach czy w ogóle za dnia uda się go z sukcesem przeprowadzić po polskich szlakach.
Na uwagę zasługuje fakt, że powrót odbył się w stanie czynnym, a nie jak w przypadku jazd poprzednich na przy-sprzęgu lokomotywy Gama 111Ed przewoźnika LTG Cargo.
Choć sam mam już wiele zdjęć jednostek ICE wykonanych w Niemczech, taki zestaw na swojej ziemi, w swoim mieście smakuje wyśmienicie i z niecierpliwością czekam na rozpoczęcie regularnych kursów, które zapowiadane są dopiero na rok 2030r.

W czerwcu 2024 roku ICE 3neo zastąpił starsze pociągi ICE na trasach transgranicznych z Frankfurtu do Amsterdamu i Brukseli. Siemens Mobility wyposaży do 32 pociągów ICE 3neo w odpowiednie komponenty, aby zapewnić kompatybilność z technologią sygnalizacji i trasami w Polsce i Francji.

German high-speed EMUs traveling independently on the E20 main line. A set of two ICE3neo (BR408) trains returned today from dynamic tests which took place on the Central Railway Line recent weeks.
Train no. 276000/1 from Idzikowice to Rzepin was photographed on the Poznań Górczyn - Palędzie route in the afternoon sun, after many uncertain moments as to whether it would be possible to successfully run it on Polish routes during the day.
It is worth noting that the return journey took place in active ride, unlike previous journeys, which were carried out with a Gama 111Ed locomotive from LTG Cargo.
Although I already have many photos of ICE units taken in Germany, seeing such a set on my own soil, in my own city, is a real treat, and I am eagerly awaiting the start of regular services, which are not scheduled to begin until 2030.
DB has ordered a total of 90 ICE 3neo units from Siemens Mobility, 29 of which have already been delivered. The first EMU of this series entered service in November 2022. In June 2024, the ICE 3neo replaced older trains on cross-border routes from Frankfurt (Main) to Amsterdam and Brussels. Siemens Mobility will equip up to 32 ICE 3neo EMUs with the appropriate components to ensure compatibility with signaling technology and routes in Poland and France.
