Our Compass 28 "Vivacious"
Compass yachts were designed and built in Sydney Australia between 1970 and 1981. They are of constructed of fibreglass with an encapsulated ballast long keel, masthead sloop rig and auxiliary diesel engine. There are six berths, galley with dinette and a private head compartment. Compass Yachts led the production of keelboats of this size in Australia, with around 800 Compass 28s and 29s being built.

2 anchors each with 10 mtrs. chain and 50 mtrs warp. 1 - 20lb plough in good cond. 1 - Danforth in fair cond.
2 bilge pumps. - 1 - electric with float switch and 1 - manual. Bucket with lanyard.
Navigation. - Garmin 75cv chart plotter. Autohelm tiller pilot. Magnetic compass. Regulation lighting.
Galley. - Two burner spirit stove. Ice box. 106 litre water tank with electric pump to sink. Dinette with chart drawer and lamp. Clock.
Head. - TMC Manual marine toilet. Installed 2018. (Never used.)
Other. - Dodger. Cockpit cushions. Pushpit seat. Carpeted interior over rubber matting for use in wet conditions. 2 - 15 mtr water hoses. 8 fenders. 2 boat hooks. 1 fixed - 1 telescopic. Dock lines.

Went for a walk along the water near our Owen Sound hotel. I thought the chains and ropes holding this boat fit the theme well!

"Algoma Compass, formerly Roger M. Kyes and Adam E. Cornelius, is a self-unloading bulk carrier built in Toledo, Ohio in 1973 for the American Steamship Company. The bulk carrier carried bulk cargoes throughout the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway. The vessel has earned a reputation as a "hard luck" ship, experiencing mechanical failures and groundings. In 2018, the ship was acquired by Algoma Central and put in service as Algoma Compass."
