View of skylight and sculpture in Crossiron Mills, Calgary. Liked the color of the translucent material. Strange but the image doesn't look like a real photo to me :)

Compass

I was going to buy a sun compass for £20 but couldnt bring myself to part with the money so I spent a bit time on the web finding out the position of the sun rise an where it would set for the middle of each month and came up with this. Save it , resize it, print it and laminate it. This is where the sun will rise and fall in the North East of England but it should only be a couple of degrees out for the rest of the UK

I've become addicted to making kaleidoscopes. I like the wave effect in this one. The original image was part of an old boat's compass.

Marble Pin on Compass. Teddy Roosevelt and Admirals Perry and Byrd all carried Webster L. Marble’s Compasses. The solid brass construction is tough, waterproof, won’t rust. The revolving, easy-to-read black face rotates on an ultra-smooth agate jewel bearing for precise readings. Virtually shatterproof crystal, won't succumb to the rigors of adventure. Pin-on style with brass "stem" to keep compass upright as you walk. They make knives, axes and match safes it’s a pretty neat company started by W.L. Marble of Michigan.
