There are a few times where I post something of my face or body. In this case, my tattoo.

Compass Bus took over service 32 on 1st June 2015, following a Surrey CC tendering process sparked by previous operator Arriva's decision the route's financial performance was not good enough.

Compass took over the service with four new Enviro200s, a contrast to Arriva where any of the fleet could turn up.

The last Arriva journey was worked by their Enviro 3990. It was meant to be 3109, but it broke down at Redhill.

When Compass started, only three Enviros had arrived, so a StreetLite was used to make up the fourth bus. On this day, one had made it back onto the route. MK63 WZX is seen at Dorking White Horse, on route to Guildford.

It was only at this point I realised that if I'd have been stood at South Street, I could have got a photo of it with the roadworks shuttle...

I just LOVE maps and this is an older version of the OS for my town.

I could easily have become a map nerd if money had allowed, and collected every one of the OS sets!

Then of course one would need a room to house them...

Compass Rose Rubber Stamp. Feels like it came from an antique treasure map or vintage atlas. Great for collage! Wooden mount measures 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches. See profile for info.

A ton of seashells just sitting there waiting to be found... and I'm talking 6+ inch of various ones ( not too great at identifying them yet.. )

The IAEA offers comprehensive capacity building support to help States meet their international nuclear safeguards obligations. This event will highlight such assistance, namely the IAEA State System of Accounting for and Control of Nuclear Material Advisory Service (ISSAS) and the IAEA Comprehensive Capacity-Building Initiative for SSACs and SRAs (COMPASS). Participants will learn about the achievements, contributions, support, and future plans in helping States implement effective and efficient safeguards.

Compartment containing Red Oak Victory's electrically-driven gyrocompass. This is the heart of the most accurate and precise system aboard that indicated the ship's direction of travel.

According to tags on the control panels, some or all of this Sperry Gyro-Compass system was manufactured under license by the Dodge Division of Chrysler Corporation.

SS Red Oak Victory, a Boulder Victory-class cargo ship built during World War II, is the only survivor of the 747 ships built at the Kaiser Richmond Shipyards. She is one of only three surviving Victory ships, larger and faster than the earlier Liberty ships.

Launched as SS Red Oak Victory, she was named in honor of Red Oak, Iowa, a town that had suffered a disproportionate number of casualties during the war. She was then commissioned as a U.S. Navy cargo ship, USS Red Oak Victory (AK-235), serving as an ammunition ship in the South Pacific until the end of World War II.

Red Oak Victory was crewed by the U.S. Merchant Marine during activations in support of the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and several international relief operations.

Today she is a museum ship, berthed at what remains of the Kaiser Richmond shipyard.

Compass Plant (Silphium laciniata var. laciniata) was found historically in Outer Bluegrass Region Savannahs in Kentucky and would have been encountered by Daniel Boone growing amongst Big Bluestem clearings in the woods where Cherokee Park is now located. The bluestem grew so tall that a man on horseback could not see over it. The compass plants were taller (typically 11-13 ft.) and could be used to navigate through a prairie.

Olmsted used Compass Plant and Indian Cup Plant as tall border perennials along Cherokee Road. There was a stand found at the intersection of Barney Ave. and Cherokee Rd. in 1941 when botanist Mabel Slack did her famous inventory of Cherokee Park for a masters degree from Cornell University.
