In the middle of March, 1565 Captain General Miguel Lopez De Lagaspi anchored along this shore. Shortly thereafter, manifesting trust and confidence in the islanders, entered into a "Blood Compact" with Filipino Chief Datu Sikatuna for the purpose of insuring friendly relations between the Spaniards and the natives.
A few drops of blood drawn from a small incision in the arm of each of the two leaders were placed in separate cups containing wine.
Each leader drank the potion containing the blood of the other. Thus, during this period of colonization, a bond was sealed in accordance with native practice. The first treaty of friendship and alliance between Spaniards and Filipinos.

This is from 1954. It has powder left, a puff with the Coty label and mirror, all in great condition. I like the flap opening and the little tab holder for the puff. The powder chamber cover also has the Coty stamp.
Another awsome Sport Compact event at WSID.Loads of cars made the trek from all over Aus to compete.Almost capacity entries on the track & a great selection of hot cars on show.
The presentation standard of Sport Compact drag cars has really amazed me so far this year, with a lot of the top runner track cars looking like prestine show cars with candy pearl paint jobs,tastefull air brushing and graffix and tuff drag spec rims all round. these guys have definatly stepped it up a notch!
Took a whole lot of photo's throughout the day, but unfortunatly forgot my memory backup so was limited to 4G worth of space...Ahhhrr.

This building got ready just a few weeks ago and still got som apartments open for you... Shinjuku, Tokyo.
After a last-minute hectic day in the office at home, I packed up, met Fred and headed for the Fort William sleeper. The sleeper is a huge train that splits at Edinburgh to go to various destinations around Scotland. Unfortunately, the Fort William part of the train at Euston doesn't have a carriage with storage, so people with bicycles have to struggle up at 4am to shift their bikes from the Inverness part of the train to the newly attached storage carriage on the Fort William train. We cunningly avoided the disrupted night's sleep by taking the folding bikes, each of which fits neatly beside a bed. Hooray! The folders also have the added advantage that if we got stuck for any reason we could pop them on a bus or in a taxi. In the end, we didn't need to do this at all on the holiday.

The circus was packing up and it was virtually dark, so I tried for one last photo before they would be gone. These are some of the little cars they had parked around town for advertising. They were stacked this way on the back of a lorry. There was a fence in the way (which I left in) ... anyway its just a ???? ta practice a few Photoshop things I've been learning. I think it sums the circus up, compacting for travelling.
This person parks in this compact space - in front of the Blazer on the day this was taken - every day, so they cannot make up some excuse about coming in late and only the compact spaces being available... especially since there were stil several spaces not designated for compacts within a few yards / meters of this space.
