Another awsome Sport Compact event at WSID.Loads of cars made the trek from all over Aus to compete.Almost capacity entries on the track & a great selection of hot cars on show.
The presentation standard of Sport Compact drag cars has really amazed me so far this year, with a lot of the top runner track cars looking like prestine show cars with candy pearl paint jobs,tastefull air brushing and graffix and tuff drag spec rims all round. these guys have definatly stepped it up a notch!
Took a whole lot of photo's throughout the day, but unfortunatly forgot my memory backup so was limited to 4G worth of space...Ahhhrr.

Taken on my compact camera, suprised how well it came out, I always have it on me, but it doesnt get much use, but turns out to be quite good for these kinds of shot, especially since I dont have any really wide lenses for the SLR
Arived at the tower during day light, but wanted to get some night shots. Was supposed to be meeting my friend but ended up being about an hour or so late because I was waiting for it to get dark. Anyway he wasnt too annoyed, well I hope not.

The compact Corolla, introduced in 1966, became the world's best-selling car by 1974. The first models had RWD, but later versions switched to FWD. Traditional rivals included the Nissan Sunny, which was introduced in Japan the same year as the Corolla, as well as the Honda Civic and the Mitsubishi Lancer. The first model was relatively small, with a wheelbase of 2.285 mm. It featured a 4-speed manual gearbox or a 2-speed automatic transmission called the Toyoglide. In May 1967, a 4-door sedan and a 3-door station wagon were introduced. The technology wasn't very advanced, but on the other hand, the cars proved to be very reliable and offered great value for money.

The yellow device is called a plate compactor, which compacts the base (or the recycled stone and gravel) so that it's firm and flat. My mistake was renting this for two days, which I ended up using for just 1.5 hours. It costs $81 a day to rent at home depot
