The sleek, sporty, orange coupe. If you drive it, then you belong equaly on the track or on a public road. Built for the luxury division of a premeir auto company. This car is anything but tame. You'll know what I mean with the traction controll off!

The compact. Designed to be small enough to fit into even the smallest parking spaces, while spacious enough to take grocery shopping.

High densities of the old medieval and industrial cities, up to 200 persons per hectare, are reborn in the new urban reality of in the 20th and 21st century.

The 8-storey buildigs are equiped with contemporary heating and plumbing but lack two essenial elements of good living, sunlight and views.

They also impose limits on privacy; the expensive, large awinings on the balconies are ironic; they protect privacy by further limiting views and light.

Living on lower floors would be an unpleasant and unhealthy experience.

Posh viewfinder camera from about 1966. It's not only good looking, it's also well equipped. It has an automatic exposure mode, but f-stop and shutter speed can be set manually. Both scales have an A-position, if you set the f-stop scale to "A", the index of the shutter speed scale automatically jumps to "A", too. So I assume, the AE-mode is a programmed one, besides this in the viewfinder fixed shutter speed - f-stop pairs are displayed with a needle: 1/30+f2.8 .. 1/250+f22.

On the lens barrel is a distance scale, in addition you can estimate the focusing with 4 symbols in the viewer.

Some specs:

* Shutter speeds 1/30 to 1/250 s and B

* Focusing range: 0.8 m to infinity

* ISO range 12 to 200

* Selenium meter

* PC-socket, cold shoe

* No self-timer

* Bright frame viewfinder with parallax marks

Unfortunately my exemplar is not working, the shutter just doesn't open. I don't dare to open it, because there is only one visible screw (next to the eyepiece), and I don't want to peel off the leatherette because it is looking still perfectly.

I spotted this old 50's Chevrolet truck, parked in an old gas station that now sells old gas memorabilia. Lashed down in the back was this old, rusty motorcycle. It was small, almost a scooter, and I don't think it had been restored. I've never heard of Simplex bikes, so this was a new one for me.

Yongma Land; a perfect day of looming storm clouds and scattered showers to visit the abandoned amusement park on an otherwise hot, humid day. A short hike from Mangu Station to the outskirts of Seoul; a couple wrong turns and I finally came upon what appeared to be the main entrance. I say “came upon,” because, I swear, the park was hidden well within the trees and the mountain. There were even times as I roamed the park that I wasn’t surprised that the park had shutdown, because it seemed difficult to find and get to. When I first came to the entrance, I didn’t even know I was there yet. There were no signs, just steps that led through some trees and a fence on the other side. There was also this old, dilapidated building to the right, so I thought I was just going there, but as I walked up the steps through the trees, the park mysteriously came into view, particularly the strikingly faded and tattered merry-go-round, which upon setting eyes upon, I realized that I had made the correct choice in visiting here today.

Armed with my - so far - trusty Canon 5D (original, classic, Mark 1; whatever you want to call it), my main lens, EF 24-105mm F/4L IS USM, and a way-too-compact umbrella, I happily paid the 5,000 KRW (about $5 USD) to the owner and began my joyous romp of the once-celebrated park. Despite storm clouds and occasional showers, I had fairly bright and even light. I’m not one to visit the same place more than once, but I would be more than willing to visit here again, like in the winter, especially during or after a snow storm, and at night. I guess the owner will turn on the lights for a couple extra bucks, but I was too early on this day. I think a late-day, late-Fall to early-Winter visit is in store for photos with park lights on, some flash, and a little light painting!
