Enviro Waste operate a fleet of Hino vehicles in Greater Wellington on refuse/recycling duties. Here a smaller vehicle designed for accessing dense urban areas and the Wellington CBD is seen passing through Oriental Bay on Wellington's waterfront.
These newly built dwellings at Thetford make a refreshing change from the usual mean little "traditional" modern houses, with their sub-Georgian embellishments, cubicle-like rooms and allocated parking. I know a chap who lives a few yards from here. He told me they were going for an "affordable" £120,000. Hmmm. Wouldn't mind one myself. The signboards say that one is sold and one remains for sale. Yet the website says that the agents are property management consultants acting on behalf of landlords. Can't quite work that one out.
My only complaint would be that the ground floor front is all window. This is another example ...habit dies hard... of an architect giving his "end users" what he thinks they ought to have, rather than what they actually want. We're all familiar with the dogma that interiors should be "light" and "airy" and that the inside of the house should merge with the outside. But these are abstractions. Human beings require privacy, retreat, "defensible space" and refuge from the world's scrutiny. Top-to-bottom windows might do on the garden front, but nobody wants to live in a goldfish bowl. The new owners of the three occupied houses have already had to spend a pretty penny on net curtains.

Working on this, know it doesn't show really a lot of detail and generic. The plan is to develop it out into a full family with a thin to this being the heavy. We will see how it goes. I have all the uppercase sketched out but need to do lowercase which will be hell.
The Claas ELIOS is the compact model in the spread of the Claas Tractors, the ELIOS has a 3.2 litre 4-cylinder engine with power outputs between 53 and 65 kW.
The wheelbase is 2,098 mm. The height of the ELIOS is approximately 2.1 metres. This tractor weighs approximately 3,200 kg.
This Claas ELIOS has been modelled in Lego bricks for Flickr LUGNuts 37th Build Challenge - 'The Food We Eat' celebrating vehicles used in the production or distribution of food, or just with funny food derived names.
I have chosen to model the Claas ELIOS in LDD, after driving past the Claas distribution centre in Laverton (Melbourne), Victoria, and admiring their lovely lime green colour. Further research has highlighted the supreme capability the Claas Tractor range is capable of.

1962 "Compact" canister vacuum cleaner by Interstate Engineering Corporation of Anaheim, CA at the Alameda Point Flea Market. Came with a bunch of attachments and bags, seems to work.
Compact APS camera from Canon, Introduced Feb 2001, a.k.a. Elph LT270 (U.S.) and IXY 230 (Japan). Very chunky and feels really well-built. Not even the slightest suggestion of colour on the whole thing.
Lens: 2.7x zoom 24-65mm f/4.5-8.0 (135 format equiv. 30-81mm)
I can't see much difference from the Z50, apart from a better zoom range (the Z50's is only 2x) and a depression as a finger grip (here hidden behind the extended lens).
Power from a CR2 3v battery.

Maginon CF35, cheap compact camera for 35 mm film. I have really no clue regarding the manufacturer, there is no country of production or serial number mentioned on the body. It is mainly made of plastic, but the castings are very clean, so my suspect is Premier from Taiwan.
The camera has a folding front door like the Minox 35 and the lens is really retractible. It is a 4/38 mm fixfocus lens, probably with 3 elements.
It has no exposure meter but the common symbols (cloudy, sunny and something in between). Together with the setting of the film speed (100, 200 and 400 ISO) you will get 6 f-stops in combination.
When the flash is switched on, you have to set the flash distance with the f-stop ring. So, I think the light sensor above the ring is just for underexposure warning.
Furthermore: film advance with a wheel, frame counter, tripod socket, no self-timer, 2x AA-cells for the flash.
Looks very similar to the Yashica Partner.
Think about taking the product "out of the box". This compact was removed from the box, then nestled on top of the box before foofing. This way the beautiful compact cover shows through, rather than a plain box. A little pink tulle and you're ready to go!
The third generation was introduced September 1964, one month before the 1964 Summer Olympics. It was available in sedan, two-door hardtop, three-door van, five-door station wagon (also as a van), two pickup variants and a five-door hatchback. Italian designer Battista Farina assisted in the styling of the new Corona. The 40–43 series were reserved for sedans, while commercial vehicles (and wagons) were in the 46 and 47 series. Hardtops received 50–55 series model codes, while 56 was reserved for the five-door hatchback.
A public demonstration of the new Corona's performance was done on the Meishin Expressway, where the new model was tested to 100,000 kilometres (62,137.1 mi), and was able to sustain speeds of 140 km/h (87 mph). The Corona was released one year after the debut of the Corona's traditional competitor, the Nissan Bluebird. Toyota introduced a smaller vehicle to address the market that needed a more fuel efficient vehicle, called the Toyota Corolla in March 1968. This allowed the Corona to increase in size and offer more passenger and cargo room over previous generations. 0–97 km/h (0–60 mph) time was 15.1 seconds.
Originally, commercial models (three-door van, pickup, and double-cab pickup) utilized the 1,198 cc 2P engine, with 55 PS (40 kW) at 5,000 rpm. This allowed for a maximum load of 500 kg (1,100 lb) for the two-seater versions and 300 kg (660 lb) for the five-seaters. Heavier loads were better accommodated by the Toyota Stout, while larger commercial grade trucks became available at Toyota Diesel Store locations. 1967 also saw the debut of a cab over van equipped for both commercial and commuting duties using the Corona engines, called the Toyota HiAce, offering more payload than the Corona was suited for.
The pickup was produced by the former Central Motors between October 1964 and August 1968.
Top speed for the 1.2-litre Corona is 110 km/h (68 mph). In January 1967 this also became available as a five-door van. In May 1967, the larger and more powerful 3P (1.35-litre) and 2R (1.5-litre) engines became available, replacing the lesser 2P in most markets. Power of these were 77 and 65 PS (57 and 48 kW) respectively.
The Toyota automatic transmission, dubbed Toyoglide, was introduced on this version of the Corona. The 4R (12R in Australian versions) engine that had a displacement of 1587 cc was equipped with a twin SU carburetor (Australian models with 12R engine had one double barrel Aisin downdraft carburetor), and was capable of 90 bhp (67 kW; 91 PS). Disc brakes were also introduced for the front wheels. Exports of this Corona proved popular in the USA and Europe, with increased engine performance and durability improvements over previous versions. In September 1967 alone, Toyota produced 80,000 cars, with 30,000 being Coronas.
In 1967 in Japan, the 1,587 cc DOHC 9R engine was available in the RT55 1600GT 2-door coupe. This engine was essentially the 4R engine with a new twincam head based on the same technology as the twincam engine in the 2000GT.

I shot this roll of Cinestill film using my classic Olympus Trip 35 compact camera. It has a f2.8 to f22, 40mm Zuiko lens, and is entirely mechanical requiring no batteries. It relies on a light sensitive element to either select 1/40th or 1/200th of a second exposure based on the film speed setting and light available.
By using this camera and taking it off “A” auto the camera is in manual and intended for the use of a flash gun. The shutter speed is set to 1/40th and you are free to choose an f stop manually based on the recommendation of the flash instructions, with Cinestill there was no flash required and the film speed setting was ignored.
I decided to do this to see what the small Zukio optics could manage in various light conditions including night time, with the fixed 1/40th sec f2.8 the exposures are entirely the down to the flexibility of the film itself.
I developed it myself using a Firstcall Photographic supplied Digibase C41 kit, and using an old Agfa Rondinax 35U daylight tank, you can see how do this yourself here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6e4Kl41OKU
I extended the development time slightly from 3m15s to 4m, with a 4m bleach stage, and 5m fix stage.
Images have been scanned with a Plustek Optic film 8100 at 3600dpi. I have never yet found any of the Plustek suggested settings for each film type to be realistic however for Cinestill the Fuji Pro films seem to offer a pleasing result.
I am only aware of one UK supplier for Cinestill which is Firstcall Photographic in Taunton, drop them a line.
