Parked at Spring Valley, NY between commute runs, a pioneer waits for another trip. 3070 had been built by Budd in 1936 as Santa Fe 3070. It was a single 52 Seat Coach built for the road as a prototype. The Santa Fe was in the market for lightweight, streamlined equipment and had a coach built by both Budd and St. Louis Car to test the merits of each. Budd would be the victor with dozens of cars of all kinds later being built by the company for Santa Fe. Sandwiching 3070 are two coaches from the lot of 52 Seat Coaches that were a result of the success of 3070. The unique pioneer would remain with the Santa Fe until 1969 when it was reitred and sold to NJDOT. The car was converted to 82 Seats but the 3070 number was retained. It would pass to NJT hands in 1979. In 1989, the aging car was retired once more, but was sold to the United Railroad Historical Society for preservation. Sometime during the 1990s, 3070 was sold to Southerd Construction and scrapped.

With me wearing my headlamp and Kiyomi wearing her reflective collar with LEDs flashing, we took a long walk from our house to the park, ran offleash for a while, and walked back.
The Cochrane-Africatown Bridge is the way to weasel across the bay without going through either tunnel. Much less traffic too.

Another day, another cycle ride along the seafront to work - this is my church, cleansing for body, mind and soul - the best commute in the world?
The N225 is part of my daily commute route.
The more or less structured chaos at both sides of the road is fascinating.
The commute to work from my home has grown in the last 4 years from a minimal 22 minutes to now at least 30 minutes, and of course much longer in the evenings. Some employees are seeking new options for commuting

Next to the helpful sign that warns you not to drive your car into the water was parked...a helicopter. Which I have a suspicion had brought someone from far away in to have lunch at Moran's. Which gives you another clue as to how good the food is.

I took these shots a July morning during my daily commute - over the previous 2 years I got used to the 60 minutes drive every morning - I listened to the radio, and later audiobooks while driving. The pictures were meant as a memory, since by then we were preparing to move from Ontario.
