“Home” reveals that over the last 60 years, the world’s population has tripled and continues to grow exponentially. An example is Shenzhen, which just 40 years ago was a small fishing village, but today hosts millions of inhabitants and hundreds of skyscrapers.
Due to increasing populations, nature is continually destroyed for the development of new roads. As a result, when cars begin to drive on these roads it continually impacts the environment. Although attempts have been made to preserve nature and it’s forests, the attempt is still minimal compared to the amount of nature, our most vital resource, that we destroy. Everyday when people commute in their cars it pollutes harmful emissions into the air, which are produced from the car’s burning diesel and petrol. A short-term possibility to alleviate this issue is through the development of electric cars. In the movie, "Who Killed the Electric Car", it claims that the electric car had already been developed in 1996, but the idea had been put down due to the remaining profitability within the oil industry, with over a trillion barrels of oil untapped within the earth’s crust, as of 2006. The benefits of electric cars are priceless. Such benefits include, but not limited to, less air pollution, quieter vehicles, and lower costs to operate. However, some obstacles may interrupt the development of electric cars such as higher technological costs, which may dissuade consumers from buying such vehicles, range problems off a full charge, and the difficult task of developing charging stations. In the textbook, "Essential Environment", it suggests the possibility of the development of hydrogen fuel with electricity. Although, this is a far-reaching possibility for the future, hydrogen could alleviate the dependence on fuels and help prevent climate change, since the vehicle’s exhaust would be water vapor.

I took these shots a July morning during my daily commute - over the previous 2 years I got used to the 60 minutes drive every morning - I listened to the radio, and later audiobooks while driving. The pictures were meant as a memory, since by then we were preparing to move from Ontario.
Egy nyári reggelen készítettem ezeket a képeket, ahogy otthonról elindultam munkába, egész a munkahelyemre érkezésig. Ekkorra az egyórás vezetéshez volt már két évem hozzászokni - előbb rádiót, majd audiobook-ot hallgattam. A megörökítés emléknek kellett - ekkor már készültünk a végül a vártnál később fél év múlva bekövetkezett költözésünkre.

On trains home from London, I tend to opt to sit on the floor: I avoid the cramped seats, and get to stretch my legs a bit.

The clouds clear, the sun shines, the sign says Morecambe, only 10 more minutes before I'm home. Thanks to the holiday traffic it will have taken me nearly twice as long as the usual hour or so to make the journey. We've traveled a little over 50 miles and covered almost the entire length of the historic county of Lancashire. My 2001st commute home has, like most of the previous 2000, been uneventful but I find they're preferable to the eventful ones. It wasn't so bad, a boring couple of hours, sure, but at least it's summer and I was driving in daylight. The winter drives in darkness and bad weather are a real pain. Thanks for traveling with me, I don't think I'd have made it without you ;-)
I'm really really proud of this tilt shift experiment. It's commuting traffic passing underneath Deptford Bridge DLR station in London.
I had my camera with me so I decided to take some pictures of vans I encountered on my commute to work on Route 93 south towards Boston...safety first!

A not-a-worry-in-the-world start of week. It ended with me and friends going to eat crepes and watching Pirates of the Carribbean, On Stanger Tides. Kinda disappointed.
The Guardian submitted to his online photographic followers an assignement: shooting commuters. I decided to give it a go with the film. Only this one came out good enough though.

On my first day commuting from the city, I've decided to try one of three options to get from my 14th Street flat to my office of world domination through planning in Redwood City. Today will be fun as I plan to let this ten car Millbrae BART rob me of my hearing for the morning! Although a cmmunical diease is more likely from the 27 year old cloth seats and lack of sanitary wraps.
