On Friday, Aug. 6, 2021, PSEG Long Island held its third of six summertime food collection drives to help Island Harvest restock its shelves. Called “Power to Feed Long Island,” this initiative is aimed at raising the equivalent of 21,000 meals (for 2021). Dozens of Long Islanders dropped off non-perishable food items, pet food and personal care items at the collection site at Stop & Shop in Massapequa, donating hundreds of meals. The town of Mocksville raced into the Christmas season with the 5th Annual “Twas the Night Before” Bed Race, and Trailers of the East Coast was well represented, sponsoring two of the 20 race teams who made the mad dash down Main Street.

PSEG Long Island, Island Harvest Food Bank and Stop & Shop kicked off PSEG Long Island’s second annual Power to Feed Long Island summer-long food drive today, on the first day of summer. PSEG Long Island Power to Feed Long Island employee ambassadors, along with anti-hunger advocates and government officials gathered at the Stop & Shop in Massapequa to donate food and money, and call on Long Islanders to take action to support neighbors facing food insecurity. More than 50 legislative staffers visited the 169th Fighter Wing to explore the complex mission and training requirements that our Airmen support at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, South Carolina Air National Guard, Dec. 13, 2023. Guests experienced F-16 fighter jets takeoff up close and learned about the various weapons it can deploy, discovered the skill it takes to work air traffic control, and learned about base safety and security from the fire department and security forces. Visiting with state and federal representatives is critical to operational sustainment and ensuring support for the future of the 169th Fighter Wing and JNGB McEntire.
