Daisy, Brownie and Junior troops from Leawood and Blue Heron elementary schools gathered at the Columbine Memorial Aug. 28 to help clean up the memorial.
The girls weeded, pruned, dead-headed, swept and polished the memorial grounds. More than 60 girls worked for two hours to beautify this significant memorial. Most of the girls who helped with the clean up will eventually attend Columbine High School.
Afterwards, the girls enjoyed a picnic lunch in a shady area of Clement Park. They shared songs and giggles. It was a perfect way to kick off the Girl Scout year!
