World Vision India is working together with local CBOs to make a lasting impact on the community. We equip the
CBOs to work efficiently towards the benefit of the children and the community. To an Anganwadi thus started by a local CBO, we provided nutrition and teaching & learning materials and staff training. Since January 2011, this has been taken over by the government.We also helped initiate two other Anganwadis at Gowtham Nagar and Laggere. As a result of these Anganwadis, older children of the family are able to go to school as they are not burdened to look after their
younger ones. Of the 3, two Anganwadis are housed at our center.
He was never discouraged by the hardship that he had to face at such a young age. He began attending school with his younger siblings at the village school and went back to work in the evening.
It was at this juncture, that World Vision enrolled him in the child sponsorship programme. Through his sponsor’s support, Gomma was able to continue his education.
Through hard work and perseverance, Gomma completed his tenth standard and intermediate course in the First Class.
Gomma is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. He is also running a tuition centre for other children in his village.

Women of Guadalupe Abajo created this plant nursery by planting seeds of fruit and shade trees. The saplings were later distributed among the community residents.
