I only saw 2 o3 3 Common Tern adults, and this 1 juvenile today at the nesting colony - all the rest have left. I was able to get a shot of Junior's feeding though...

Going back through some photos from earlier in the year when I found that I hadn't processed this one for some reason.

i have had a good year with the terns

I didn't realise common terns ate insects too. I assumed they only ate fish.

Bringing some food back for it's young at the nest.

Wrightsville Beach, NC. I usually point my camera towards the water cause the sun is with me, but I never get to shoot the nesting colony. In the morning, it is back-lit. I did today to get some different shots and different lighting. If nothing else, it's good practice shooting and processing.

Light makes all the difference and unfortunately it was pretty dismal today, but I did like this image for the interaction.

The calm water provided some stunning reflections on this July morning at Nickerson Beach in Long Beach, NY. In this scene I think it takes a few seconds to register exactly what you are seeing. I will leave it to you. July 21, 2017

I stopped by Wrightsville Beach again today for about an hour. The nesting season begins, and I witnessed lots of mating activity. The first shot shows a Tern calling out, and later being joined by its mate.
