The BCCK Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on March 18, 2026, at Grand Hyatt Seoul. BCCK members were welcomed by Sean Blakeley, Chair of the BCCK and Lucinda Walker, CEO of the BCCK. His Majesty’s Ambassador Colin Crooks LVO attended the meeting and spoke about the strong collaboration between the Embassy and the Chamber, and he thanked the members for their support of the Chamber and of the wider British-Korean community.
Sean Blakeley presented the BCCK’s 2025 performance, and Lucinda Walker, CEO, outlined the Chamber’s strategic plans for 2026. Updates were also shared on key initiatives, committees, and regional engagement, reflecting the Chamber’s continued commitment to supporting its members and strengthening the UK–Korea business community.
A key highlight of this year’s AGM was the formal approval of the British Ambassador to the Republic of Korea as the Honorary President of the BCCK. This appointment reflects the Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) signed between the UK Government’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and the British Chambers of Commerce in 2025, and underscores the strong and enduring partnership between the British Embassy Seoul and the Chamber. While the role is symbolic and non-executive, it reinforces the Ambassador’s ongoing support and advocacy for the Chamber and its members.
Another highlight was the presentations about the BCCK Empower Programme by Jenny Kim, Dwight School Seoul and Kay Lee from CBRE on their firsthand experience of the programme. Alison Derbyshire, Dulwich College Seoul and Nicola Weir, Deloitte also shared about the EmpowerED programme as well as ESG Talks.
The AGM also marked changes to the Executive Committee. Several long-serving members, including Thomas Ferguson, Dwight School Seoul and Christina Ahn, Korn Ferry, stepped down after making valuable contributions to the Chamber and were warmly thanked for their dedication and service. Members then approved the election of the new Executive Committee for the 2026/2027 term, including both returning and newly appointed members. The Senior Executive Committee, comprising individuals taking on defined leadership roles within the Chamber, was also approved. In addition, a number of advisors will be formally appointed at the first Executive Committee meeting of the year to further support the Chamber’s activities.
The AGM was a success, and the Chamber looks forward to another productive year working closely with the Executive Committee, the British Embassy, and its members. We thank all members for their participation and continued engagement in shaping the direction of the organisation.

The typical, conventional nine-to-five work is the most stable and surefire way to earn a decent living—or is it?
Mahendra Moonstar is one of the few who dared to think differently. He abandoned the certainty of an office employment for the chance to explore Indonesia on his own two feet, one island at a time, from Sabang to Merauke.
A bold decision indeed. One that demands a considerable amount of wit, perseverance, and most importantly: commitment.
