Bit touristy I know, but was walking past last night, had the LX3 in the bag, so grabbed a quick shot. Not sure about that huge patch of night sky, but when I framed it with less, it looked off balance..
Would like to go back with the D90 and redo this at some point, as you can get some great reflections of St Pauls in the buildings, but was nice taking some photos again last night for a bit, even if it was amazingly cold..
Hoping to get out and do some long exposure stuff soon as I have a few weeks off work now.
TPC Harding Park - Daly City-Colma Chamber of Commerce Mixer
Welcome to TPC Harding Park
TPC Harding Park, named after avid-golfer and President Warren Harding, opened in 1925. Masterfully designed by golf course architect Willie Watson, of Olympic Club fame, the 163-acre course takes advantage of existing topography, contours and vegetation.
The course’s history is almost as great as the Monterey Cypress Trees that line it. A frequent PGA TOUR stop in the 1960’s, the newly renovated TPC Harding Park is once again attracting big name tours – host to the 2005 World Golf Championship and the 2009 President’s Cup.

The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce operated from this large brick building on the waterfront from the Gold Rush of 1898 until 1989. The building is derelict, but the Bank of Commerce is still in operation.
The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce was designated a national historic site because of its gold rush history, and
because it is a Renaissance Revival building clad in decorative pressed metal.

No sternwheelers from the time of the gold rush have survived, but the National and Historic Sites Branch preserved the Keno, a typical vessel dating from 1922. The Keno was built to transport silver, lead and zinc ore from the mines in the Mayo district 290 km to Stewart City.

Lecturer in Commerce appointed
The military coup in Fiji in 1987, caused no only an upheaval in the personal life of one newly appointed lecturer, but also in his academic life as well.
Chris Patel, recently appointed as a Lecturer in Commerce, was Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Acting Head of the School of Business Studies at the Fiji School of Technology and also a part-time lecturer at the University of the South Pacific when the coup took place. He also acted as a consultant in financial accounting and management.
Chris comes to the University after time spent in Wollongong and New Zealand. He completed a Masters degree in Commerce with honours at the University of Wollongong, with a major in financial accounting, working as a tutor there at the same time. In 1990 he lectured at the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand in Wellington, his role to build a higher research profile for its Department of Accounting.
In June this year he was commissioned by the Minister of Education in New Zealand to study the present financial reporting requirements for New Zealand schools with a view to recommending possible improvements in the system.
Chris is interested in Differential Reporting and while at the Open Polytechnic in New Zealand. worked closely with the New Zealand Society of Accountants on developing this topic in accounting.
Research he conducted in New Zealand established a very strong need for this.
Chris has written extensively on accounting matters and his most recent publications are: "Financial Distress and Tax-effect Accounting" Accounting Forum (Journal of School of Accountancy, University of South Australia), Volume 14, no. 4. march 1991 pp 21-32. "Differential Reporting - For and Against" Accountants' Journal (Journal of the New Zealand Society of Accountants), May 1991 pp. 79-81. "Weasel-words in Accounting Standards", Accounts' Journal, October 1991. "Differential Reporting: A Survey of 'Expert' Accountants", Accountants' Journal, November 1991.
"I am interested in the social aspects of accounting and the reasons behind corporate failures," Chris says.
"Accountancy is not just about figures on a page, it is about real people and affects everyone in one way or another," he says.
He is planning to commence study for a PhD next year under Professor Frank Clarke.
