FORT BELVIOR, Virginia – On Dec. 1, Brig. Gen. Ural D. Glanville, took command of the U.S. Army Reserve Legal Command, during ring a ceremony held at the U. S. Army Legal Services Agency.
Hundreds of judge advocates, paralegal noncommissioned officers and other Soldiers took part. Many retired officers also attended the event.
During the ceremony, Chaplain (Lt. Col.) William Baron offers the invocation during the change of command ceremony. Sgt. Mariah Dixon presents a bouquet of red roses to Rhonda Chitwood, wife of outgoing commander.
Maj. Gen. Scottie Carpenter, U.S. Army Reserve Command, Deputy Commanding General and Maj. Gen. Stuart W. Risch, Deputy Judge Advocate General were part of the official party.
The legal command’s colors were passed from Command Sgt. Maj. Marcus F. Montoya to Chitwood, who turned to Carpenter and finally to Glanville, signifying the change of command.
Afterward, Soldiers from the U. S. Army Reserve Legal Command honored Chitwood upon his retirement.

Gen. Daniel B. Allyn, commanding general, U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM) hosted an Assumption of Responsibility Ceremony today for Command Sgt. Maj. Scott C. Schroeder, 53, who assumed duties as the FORSCOM command sergeant major. Schroeder returns to Fort Bragg, where he had served previously with the 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, deploying to Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. REGIONAL SUPPORT COMMAND-EAST, Afghanistan (July 14, 2010) -- RSC-East had a Change of command where the out-going commander, Col. Kevin Fagades, was recognized for his achievments while commander of RSC-East, and the incoming commander, Col. Ron Meternich, was welcomed into the position. Colonel Fagades arrived in Afghanistan in May 2009 to take command of RSC-East until his reliquishing of command on July 14 of this year. Colonel Meternich was in Afghanistan back in 2006 through 2007 where he commanded the 2nd Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division in the GHAZNI Province.

Spano, the 2nd Infantry Division command sergeant major and his wife, Mare Contrare joined Command Sgt. Maj. Patrick M. Quirk, senior enlisted adviser for U.S. Army Garrison Red Cloud and Area I in preparing, serving and even marketing the event to Soldiers, civilians and families.

Joint Sustainment Command - Afghanistan coordinated with the Department of Homeland Security to host the September Military Naturalization Ceremony, September 28, Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. Over 45 servicemembers from over 25 different countries became U.S. citizens after receiving the oath of citizenship from Mr. Robert Daum. Soldiers and Airmen from units across the Los Angeles area joined members of the Los Angeles Dodgers Alumni at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Armory in Van Nuys, Calif., Jan. 30, to assist Operation Gratitude in the assembly of care packages for military members deployed overseas.
Participating in the event were unit members of the US Air Force; Department of the Army Office of the Chief of Public Affairs; California Air National Guard; California Army National Guard; Los Angeles Recruiting BN; 311th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) ; 420th Transportation Battalion and 730th Transportation Company.
The Los Angeles Dodgers alumni included Tommy Lasorda, Al Ferrara, Ron Cey, Billy Ashley, Maury Wills and members of management, staff and executive officers.

CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait – Soldiers from the 143d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) participated in a patching ceremony here Sept. 20. Col. James C. Bagley, chief of staff, 143d ESC, placed the unit insignia on the Soldiers' right sleeve, signifying the award of the hailed “Combat Patch” and the Soldiers commitment to the unit during operations in a designated combat zone.
The combat patch or shoulder sleeve insignia indicates former wartime service, a tradition started by the Army during World War II. Col. Bagley was joined by Sgt. Maj. Ferdinand Collazo Jr., chief signal sergeant major for the 143d ESC’s G-6 section, Capt. Robert J. Luzarraga, company commander of the 143d ESC, Chief Warrant Officer 4 Joseph Phoebus, senior ordnance ground maintenance warrant officer G-4 and 1st Sergeant Randolph L. Ellerbe, the 143d ESC’s first sergeant. Special guest, Command Sgt. Maj. Luther Thomas Jr., the senior enlisted advisor of the U.S. Army Reserve, stopped by to speak with the 143d Soldiers during the ceremony.
