Had to jump up and draw a comedy cock on the virtual wall in front of couple of hundred people, RUM in one hand can in the other.

School of comedy has become one of my favorite shows ever. These kids are very good actors and really funny. I definitely enjoyed it.

Here is an HDR of the Comedy Club building where I work in the warehouse district of Minneapolis.
Prepare for an HDR flood. I've got 21 more waiting to be processed that I took today... Of course it takes at least half hour just to process one HDR so it won't exactly be a "flood" ;-)

Comedy and Tragedy
1808
Pine (originally painted)
Made by William Rush, American,
born 1756, died 1833
William Rush created these two sculptures, Comedy and Tragedy, for Philadelphia's first theater, the New Theatre, at Sixth and Chestnut Streets. Until this time, Rush had been known for his carvings of ship's figureheads and for his ornamental work. This commission marked the beginning of the artist's creation of large-scale public sculptures.
Other works carved by Rush for Philadelphia include allegorical representations of the Schuykill River for the original waterworks (where City Hall stands today); a set of figures for the second waterworks at Fairmount (now part of the Museum's collection); and a full-length figure of George Washington.

Essex entrepreneur Tony Appleton and his late business partner Les Cooper pulled off the publicity coup of the century.
They brought comedy megastars Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise to Essex three times in the 70s.
Tony, 75, who was then a carpet retailer, and his great friend and furniture store owner Les, opened adjacent shops in 1971, in the then brand-new High Chelmer shopping centre, as well as there venture in Brentwood.
The photographs here are taken from the two occasions Morecambe and Wise came to Market Road, Chelmsford.
On their first visit in 1971 Eric wore a sports jacket and light coloured slacks, and when they returned the following year - to be greeted by the Essex Chronicle's Mrs Chelmsford - Eric wore a pin stripe suit with extra wide lapels.
Tony and Les were themselves a great double act for more than 45 years until Les died two years ago.
They even upstaged the two comedy idols by picking them up in a horse-drawn open carriage to parade through the streets before adoring crowds.
The opening attracted all the TV stations and the clip is often shown on archive programmes 40 years later.
A giant colour photograph in the Essex Chronicle showed Eric's classic pose pointing to Ernie's alleged hairpiece as a lady pretended to pour champagne over it.
Tony chuckled: "We were young businessmen with lots of cheek and we just wrote to the boys' agent and they agreed to come!
"We arranged for them to meet us at the Army and Navy pub, which was still going strong then.
They came by chauffeur-driven Rolls, but we got an open carriage and pair.
"It caused a sensation in the town. Market Road where our shops were side by side was swamped with thousands of people, all exchanging banter with Eric and Ernie.
"Les and I were astounded at how down to earth and informal these two comedians at the top of their fame were. We chatted with them as if we had been friends for years."
Tony recalls the "opening" fee was £1,000, shared between Les and himself, equivalent to more than £10,000 today.
"It was the best £500 I ever spent because, for the next two years, everyone we met and pretty well everyone who came into the shops talked about the day Morecambe and Wise hit town, and we sold lots of merchandise off of it.
"Eric and Ernie returned to Chelmsford in 1972 to officialy open my furnishing store, near my carpet shop, and a little later when Les bought Wilsons Store at Brentwood and we launched in there together.
By then we two and those two megastars really were old friends," he added.
Tony has since become a superstar in his own right as Lord of the Manor of Great Baddow, a toastmaster and town crier for towns across England, as well as the proprietor of a small care home in Baddow.

This event will bring together activists and comedians to discuss the ways in which comedy can push forward agendas such as #metoo and contemporary women’s rights movements, and how this effort can translate into meaningful change in women’s lives. The event will also showcase the work of UN Women and Mythos Labs in countering violent extremist recruitment narratives—and their understandings of gender—through comedy. It features a comedy set by renown comedian and actress Aparna Nancherla.
In early 2018, UN Women partnered with Mythos Labs to produce a series of comedy videos to counter the messaging of terrorist groups in the Asia region. Working with female comedians in South Asia and South-East Asia, these sketches challenge the narratives used by violent extremist groups and counter extremist ideology in the online space. While this work was originally piloted to prevent and counter violent extremism, the implications go far beyond this realm. Comedy can and is being used to promote broader themes of women’s empowerment and gender equality, by not just making us laugh, but by challenging stereotypes with a broad and engaged audience.
This project is part of UN Women’s Empowered Women, Peaceful Communities programme, which is funded by the Government of Japan. This programme works in the Asia Pacific region to challenge the gendered dynamics of violent extremism and reverse its growing trend, through prioritizing women’s rights, empowerment, participation and leadership—in national decision-making and at the community level.

From director Kat Coiro comes L!fe Happens, a comedy centered on three young women - Kim (Krysten Ritter), Deena (Kate Bosworth) and Laura (Rachel Bilson) - who all live under the same roof in Los Angeles. When one of Kim's one-night-stands results in an unexpected pregnancy, things take a sudden turn for the trio. With the help of her girlfriends, Kim must cope with single motherhood as she jumps back into the dating scene amid the fear that toting around a tot can be a dating 'buzz-kill.' Also featuring Jason Biggs, Seymour Cassel, Rhys Coiro, Justin Kirk, Kristen Johnston, Andrea Savage, Geoff Stults and Fallon Goodson, L!fe Happens takes a look at single living, friendship and the joys of life's curveballs.
