Una sontuosa Galleria del Chiostro anteriore.

Questa è l'ala nord del chiostro sulla quale si apre la sala capitolare.

Là in fondo c'è l'entrata della chiesa sormontata da un bellissimo gruppo scultoreo che non ho ripreso da vicino :(

Sotto potete vedere una galleria dell'altro chiostro, molto più austera

Il chiostro anteriore di Santes Creus è probabilmente il primo chiostro gotico della penisola spagnola. Le gallerie nord ed est furono cominciate nel 1303. Esse sono coperte con volte ad ogiva e grandi arcate con combinazione di rosoni a tre, quattro, e cinque lobi. Le gallerie sud ed ovest, costruite dal 1332 al 1341, sono anch’esse coperte con volte ad ogiva ma le arcate sono decorate da modanature che si intrecciano e si sviluppano con curve e controcurve nel miglior stile fiorito, in modo particolare nella più recente galleria ovest. I capitelli delle colonne sono abbondantemente decorati con motivi scultorei floreali, faunistici, araldici e mitologici.

Inside one of the temples at Angkor Wat

A second set of columns in Columbia located at the Boone County Courthouse on 8th street aligned with the iconic columns at Jessie Hall on the campus of the University of Missouri. Looking south toward East Broadway the sun peaks out from behind one of the columns. The long shadows of the low sun creates a leading line to one of the middle columns.
