Historic Newark Castle, Nottinghamshire, with its origins dating back to the 12th Century being outshone by the Victorian style streetlamps.

Love it when the lamps are on in Rosalind Park!

I was inspired by a Harry Potter/J.K Rowling's short quote In the Goblet of fire - ''I love magic'', to produce this image.

Enjoyed a mostly free morning roaming the streets of New York City today, starting with a subway ride to the famous B&H Photo store, winding through Times Square, and finishing near this sign, which I happened upon by accident.

taken with my vivitar ultra wide and slim camera, and I think I prefer this one, taken by a £6 camera, to the one taken by my £450 (can't remember exactly) Nikon 40X

I like its gaudiness

Image: "humidity, the amount of water vapour in the air" Britannica.com

It's a strange thing this humidity: when the air is fully laden with moisture, the water-spray here just hangs there - even though it's really hot, but in really dry air - like in extremely cold climates, it vanishes in an instant. Some say, 'you can escape the heat, but you can't escape the cold'. However, humidity will follow you into the shade.

I wonder what this would've looked like if that were hot-water being sprayed?

Image's background story: As I was cycling along nearby, I glanced to my left and saw this sight, then a few seconds later as my slow-brain processed what I'd just seen, I decided that this image was too good to pass by. After doing a quick U-turn, when I got back the man had finished spraying, he was washing the windows with a washcloth now. I explained to this stranger the scene I'd just witnessed and asked if he'd need to wash off the windows when he was done. Fortunately he said he would, and that he'd be finished in a moment. This small village is way out in the sticks, meaning this fancy new carwash-place seems a bit misplaced, and this is the first time I've seen it in use since it opened about a month ago. Anyway, after a bit of smalltalk, the car-windows were foamy-clean ready for a rinse. I took my position and snapped away.

Colorsplash of a climber at Bath

Having a play with some splash photography again today using my new flashgun. This time I used water with some blue food colouring and an ice cube to drop in to the glass. This took quite a bit of processing after as well, as the previous splashes had stained the white t-shirt I used as a background and I had to put it in to photoshop and remove all the previous stains. Still I think it came out ok in the end.

Having fun and playing around with this weeks #IOP Rule of Thirds assignment......Just a creative touch as usual for me...Still learning to use Photoshop

Ceramic Poppies at The Tower of London, London, England.

Number 90 from the P1 Powerboat race going flat out past the oil refinery jetty

Taken on my recent trip to Brussels with the family. This photo has a mixture of both black/white & colour. I don't like to over use this effect when editing but felt it was quite fitting to this time around.

I've added this image to my print store. You can order your own high quality print from £9 here: www.idjphotography.com/prints. Deliveries worldwide

365_34 Apologies for late upload and weak DOF, noticed today which is too late we've already eaten the strawberries :-) and I don't want to cheat. Amassing cliches this time: selective colouring, heart, primary colours, one type of fruit... ;-D

My original Sunday plans sadly changed so I thought why not see what Cambridge has in store on a semi drizzly morning before the shops open.
