The trees of Lucavsala island (series, photo #4).

Lucavsala is the island on the Daugava river geografically located in the southern part of Riga, very close to the historical centre of the city - about 10 minutes with the public transportation.

Only few years ago, the island was full of abandoned sheds and covered by the almost impenetrable ground, but now has become a popular place for bathing and recreation after the renovation works.

Luckily, I visited Lucavsala in the middle of the working day after the showfall and I was absolutely alone there. So, I was able to take some photos of the beautiful trees growing there.

You know it's a good trip when you go to Alabama Hills and the moon sets in the east as the sun rises...love this place

first few images processed from tonights session , combined refraction through waterdroplets with collisions.

used the welsh flag as back ground and water in the valve and vessel , no additives

I find playing with water drops to get them to collide quite relaxing as well as shooting macro especially as one collision is never the same as the next. As a consequence this is my contribution to the Macro Mondays theme of "Relaxation". HMM

Bouncing waterdrop meets falling waterdrop. Panasonic DMC-FZ1000. Lens Leica DC VARIO-ELMARIT 1:2.8-4.0/9.1-146 at 38mm. f/8.0. ISO 200. 1/160s.

The external flash was controlled by Arduino programming linked with a light barrier. Illumination was realized through a glass panel from bottom up. Flash power adjustment: 1/64 in order to freeze the collision. The Yongnuo Speedlite YN560 IV was used.

Another one from the archives - Agra, India. This was some quiet side street not far from my hotel, but cows in India know no fear. They can cross a wide busy street as easily and everyone has to deal with it: stop, curse, go around...and sometimes take pictures.

This Swan loomed larger and larger in the viewfinder and I was beginning to think I might have to dive out of the way! It had however, a Gosling in his sights; which he subsequently chased and sadly killed. I know ‘that’s nature’, but it somewhat soured the photographic opportunity.

I am eagerly awaiting colorful evenings like this, once spring/summer finally arrive!
