This image belongs to a series of motor vehicle photographs that do not contain owners or people with the vehicles. Therefore, they do not fall completely within the requirement of my 'Family Car' collection.
I thought however that somebody might like to see the rejects.
They have not been cleaned or restored to the extent of the primary collections, and they will not be placed in any Flickr groups.
If any images receive sufficient 'hits', I will consider cleaning them up for a more public release.

"J. B. Hopkins, Photographer, Lock Haven, PA." Written in pencil on reverse: "M.(?) R. Shank & wife." The 3-cent tax stamp has been cancelled with a black ink stamp reading "1865."
The most likely candidates for this family are farmer Michael Shank (b.1810) and his wife Susan (b. 1819), who lived in the town of Liberty, not far from Lock Haven.
Yet another helmet, this one with very human features, as opposed to the beak noses and eye slits favoured by others.

Coupé prototype d'usine
1972 De Tomaso Pantera Group 3
Châssis no. 1070

I discovered this book of stamps collected by my father. It was dated 1975 and I happened to find it in a box full of documents while cleaning out my room.
Pretty neat stuff even though it's not worth much. As a graphic designer, I find these pretty inspiring.
The Crawford Auto-Aviation Collection is a museum in the University Circle neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. Part of the Western Reserve Historical Society, it was founded by industrialist Frederick C. Crawford of TRW, and opened in 1965. The collection began as the Thompson Products Auto Album, which was also founded by Crawford.
Its eclectic collection of classic vehicles includes a replica of 1890s Cleveland main street, antique carriages, early Harley Davidson motorcycles, a Willys Custom Sedan, and a P-51 Mustang racing plane used in the National Air Races. The oldest car in the collection is an 1895 Panhard et Levassor, while the most modern is the robotic car named "DEXTER", which was team Team Case's entry in 2007 DARPA Urban Challenge 2007, in which it placed in the top 20 entries. As of 2011, the museum has 37 cars that are more than 100 years old, the largest such collection in the world. One of the rarest cars in the collection is an aluminum bodied 1932 prototype Peerless, designed by Frank Hershey, which was never put into production and was the last passenger vehicle made in Cleveland.

All of the Ford vehicles seen above are part of Ford’s Centennial Die-Cast Collection issued in conjunction with the Ford centennial in 2003. I picked up the 13-piece American set at the Centennial celebration in Dearborn (kind of an expensive impulse buy). When I got home I found out that Ford had issued different Centennial Collections in Europe and Australia. I scrambled and ended up with all but two of the European models which comes to a grand total of 20 out of 22 vehicles.
All of the European and American models were created by Minichamps of Germany. The four unique Australian vehicles were created by a company called Carlectables. Here is a breakout of the three different collections:
USA:
1914 Ford Model T
1928 Ford Model A
1940 Ford Deluxe station wagon
1941 Lincoln Continental
1948 Ford F-1 pickup
1949 Ford convertible
1950 Mercury
1955 Ford Thunderbird
1956 Continental Mark II
1958 Edsel Bermuda station wagon
1964 Ford Mustang convertible
1969 Mercury Marauder
2004 Ford GT
Europe:
1963 Ford Cortina
1965 Ford Taunus 20M
1969 Ford Capri
1971 Ford Escort
2002 Ford Fiesta
+ six of the American models
Australia
1933 Ford Model 40 Coupe (this particular coupe being unique to Australia)
1965 Ford Cortina GT 500 (homologation special)
1967 Ford XR Falcon GT
2002 Ford Falcon XR8 Ute
+ a combination of six American and European models
