The first cockroach I’ve seen in Eugene... frozen to death on the street.

One of the three cockroaches that shed their exoskeleton at the same place, on the same day. It was soon defeated by a mob of 2 (my mom and my sis), armed with baygon and brooms.

The white thing is the cockroach. The black thing is the skeleton left behind.

Michael Bodhan of the of the Cockroach Hall of Fame Museum. This a wonderful little spot in Plano, Texas houses some splendid dioramas that star cockroaches. The various pieces show just how creative people can get when starring a cockroach in a work of art.

A cockroach struts his stuff. Yes, it is behind glass!

In New Orleans, if you're a tourist, you don't want to go outside too early in the morning, before the business have a chance to hose down the sidewalks and street. There were lots of squished cockroaches, but I only took a pic of one. I wouldn't have done that, except that people who haven't been there tend to not believe me when I tell them how omnipresent cockroaches are in Souther Louisiana!

Probably the Madagascar hissing sort, and as such quite genial, but I was more than happy to be separated from them by glass.

so funny. This is definitely one for Aussies. Every year they have the State of Origin Rugby League match between Queensland and New South Wales. The competition is strong! The Queensland side are known as the Canetoads (Maroon) and New South Wales as the Cockroaches (blue).
