Jardin Botanico Nacional Dr. Rafael Maria - Santo Domingo Botanical Gardens. This is a lovely and large botanical garden in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The Coccothrinax argentea are natural to the park and old specimens can be found everywhere. The garden does have some very amazing species, however the plant diversity is largely limited to native species, and pretty much every species present at the park can be found in the main entrance.
Odd, flat lighting, not typical of Florida.
From the left, the fan palm is a Latania. The banana-like leaves back of it are a Heliconia. the palm trunk with white flowers and a green crownshaft is Archontophoenix tuckeri from NE Queensland. Fan palm to its right is a Zombia x Coccothrinax hybrid, which tries to flower but doesn't. the short feather-leaf palm with long leaves is Dypsis plumosa, rare in the wild in Madagascar. Then two trunks of Carpentaria acuminata palms, and an avocado tree. The palm feather leaves above the avocado are a young Archontophoenix cunninghamiana, eastern Australia.
