Taken in the Kallahti nature reserve in Helsinki on the Gulf of Finland coast in January. Now it looks like this is the iciest coastal landscape here this winter. Although the forecast promises a little frost for the last few days of the week, when the situation may be a little better. Let's hope the camera will have work to do then (A7R6995-1e).

It's all about being in the right place at the right time and I was glad to choose this trail up Plateau Mountain in the Catskills on a perfect winter day.
This is one of my favorite trees and it looks even better with a dusting of snow.. It's in Slocan Park.
The temperature has remained mostly below 0C for the last 3 days. It's good in that it has firmed up the muddy ground and has coated the trees and bushes with a thin layer of ice
A single blade of grass is coated in dew. The shallow depth of field is created by a 50mm f/1.4 on an extension tube.

Take care with the dust of Fumed Silica. Breathing in of the fine dust particles can be hazardous to health.
