A very sad day.
After 67 years Grangemouth coach company Fitzcharles has ceased trading today.
The company entered into liquidation and closed at 5pm.
Founded in 1948 the company started of with small premises selling and repairing cycles and prams and added coach hire, package holidays and day trips.
A very sad day for all involved.

Showbus 2019 took place at the Hertfordshire County Showground near Redbourn in late September. A mixed day of weather saw plenty of visiting vehicles nicely spread across the large open site.
The event was very well attended by photographers so for this reason I chose to focus mainly on the coaches along with a few of the many buses that caught my eye.

The first Bristol LHS coach , bodied by Duple , was shown at the 1974 Commercial Motor Show . Bristol LHS6L LHS-177 / Duple Dominant 566/6700 C35F was first licenced in January 1975 as HAX399N to Davies, Tredegar , although it carried Jason Tours fleetnames here at the show , where it is being admired by the late Geoff Bruce. My notes suggest that we had travelled there on Bristol LS EJN638 of Evans , Bristol.
Duple only built a dozen or so of these , many more LHSs being bodied by Plaxton.
HAX399N was acquired by Arleen , Peasedown St John in September 1976 , and sold to Ryan , Bath in June 1984. It was later with Beadles , Newtown as AOR631A. After a period of storage it was acquired by Dave Preston , Kington for preservation , with a major restoration to Davies , Tredegar livery.
Another Plaxton delivered new to Weirs Tours was OGE 372V, although by the time this was delviered the chassis of choice had changed to Volvo.
Although normally described as Weirs Tours of Bowling I only ever rememeber them when operating from a small garage opposite Gavinburn depot in Old Kilpatrick.

Lacking a little love when seen on Darley Ford Coaches' Plymouth service on 12th October, 2000, it is hard to believe that this Volvo B10M-61 Van Hool Alizee was once top cat in the football world whilst operating for Sworders of Walkern as a team coach for both Spurs and Arsenal, then registered C238 GBH.
I've not been to Victoria Coach Station for a long time and had forgotten how busy it is! Gone are the Megabuses (shame) but there is still plenty of variety to be seen despite almost every National Express coach being a Levante 3/3a (shame). It makes the other stuff stand out I suppose!
