The 66th UK Coach Rally took place over the weekend of April 9th/10th 2022 and was attended by 46 coaches out of a permitted 55. I visited both days and grabbed a few shots of the coaches in all their glory.

BRUGGE. In the centre the beautiful market square, next to it, The Burg.
We emerge from the Town Hall, onto The Burg and are greeted by a wall of heat.
We decide to have some refreshment on the terrace, I mean, we mustn’t dehydrate! LOL
It all of a sudden all comes together, again, that patience you need as a photographer.
The coaches, and not one person in the way!
I mean this square is mega busy. Sheer luck!
The carriages had for some reason gathered there, waiting.
A carriage ride through the historic winding streets takes about half an hour.
During the ride gives the coachman expert explanation.
Many of the drivers are female, and most carry a ‘canotier’, a ‘boater’ is a summer hat.
It is normally made of stiff straw.
In cooler weather it is a bowler that they wear.
Their horses are not working every day: most horses work every four days.
Coachdrivers who work the whole week, have about six horses to do the tours.
I wish you a day full of beauty and thank you for your visit, Magda, (*_*)

The daily coach only Jitong Railways eastbound passenger train rolls through the northern China countryside in a scene that strangely reminds me of Southern Alberta. QJ class 2-10-2 #6991 seems out of place on the modern welded rail and concrete ties of this line, but at the time steam was still the most economical way of moving people and tonnage across Inner Mongolia. After watching the passenger disappear over the horizon, myself and my two chain smoking hired "guides" piled into a Micro Bus and headed for tea and conversation with the local crossing guards a few miles down the line.

A trip to Windsor coach park yesterday (28/07/2025) and a nice selection of visiting coaches to photograph. Of particular note on this visit was a beautiful 30-seat Setra S516HDH from German operator König's Reisen from Wirges; a rather smart pair of Grayline Higer Tourings from Bicester; the Vision Travel of Taunton coach; an ever immaculate Hodge's coach from Sandhurst; a trio of Marchant's from Cheltenham; and an unusual Ayats Kronos from Aylesbury-based Super Plus Coach. Plus Westbus arrived with a newly-wrapped Tourismo. Happy days!

PS Coaches of Abingdon came to Windsor coach park today (28/07/2025) with 6 of their 10-strong fleet. The origins of this Oxfordshire firm stem from Percival's Coaches run by the Skinner family who have been operating private hire vehicles since 1929. Percivals became Tourex then The School Bus Company before establishing PS Motor Services with Piers Skinner taking over the family business in December 2018.
The current fleet consists of 2x Temsa Safari HD, 2x VDL SB4000 / Van Hool Alizee, 3x Volvo/Plaxtons, 1x Volvo/Van Hool T9, 1x Dennis Trident / East Lancs and 1x Ford Transit.
It helps to have good contacts within this wonderful hobby and indeed it was a message from one such friend that prompted me to take an extended lunch break in Windsor today. Many thanks B!

Seeing a Portsmouth City Coaches rail replacement bus in Woking yesterday reminded me I have some shots from a photoshoot I did with them earlier this year (August 2025). CBW magazine requested some photos for an article that one of their esteemed reporters had written so with the help of proprietor Mike Elkin we posed a few of the fleet for my camera and enjoyed a bag of chips afterwards (cheers Mike!). The MCV Evosetis, new at the time, are now in fleet livery.
