Another closeup, this time with flash to brighten the colors some. I think it looks a little too stark but I do love the way it brings out the color in my hair!

From a zoo south in Norway, Kristiansand.

This Emu gave me quite a scare when he suddenly appeared behind me. I didn;t see him because of the heavy shadows, but I turned around and he was almost touching me. His neck feathers were all puffed out and he was as tall as me. He was covered in what seemed to be powder, could have been pollen that shimmered in the sun. He didn't seem to be aggressive so I went inside for the camera and he was good enough to wait for me :-)
