Sometimes you don't appreciate everyday activities until you view them at 15x. This is the tip of a pencil getting ground to a sharper point.

No editing except cropping.

I used the shiny colorful side of a cd to reflect the light through the oil bubbles. The image was cropped for the most pleasing composition.

These metallic looking guys have a larger fleeing distance than the one from yesterday. Although there were plenty around, I didn't get that much pictures from them.This one I like the most from the view shots I was able to take.

 

Taken at natural light with an MP-E 65 at 1x magnification.

One stud have to be removed for each flower. Making it fit over a stud proved to be impossible

A closeup of Lomatium dissectum var. dissectum - Chocolate Tips or ern-leaved desert-parsley. This is a red-listed species here in BC. This shot shows off the filaments and anthers with pollen.

I don't usually like HDR applied to nature photography - often produces an very unatural effect. In this case it may have helped by bringing out the colour in the insect and the background.

Can be viewed at original size to see the detail.
