I hadn't completed the edit of the climbing shot, so reposted as the diptych. I'm not sure if the hands would be better as the first image, but I suppose that is a cultural generalisation?!?!?!

I came across these goats by the wayside on my way out of Essaouira in Morocco. They climb into Argan trees to eat the bitter flesh of the Argan fruit, some observers say that goats spend as much as 6 hours a day in these trees.

Crooked River flows downstream under one of America's most popular climber's challenges: Smith Rock's Monkey Face. When viewed from the south, the top of the pillar resembles the face of a Monkey complete with a mouth, nose, and eyes.

This 350 foot spire is considered a seriously dangerous climb. Monkey Face has one of the toughest free routes in the world, Just Do It (5.14c) located on the bulging east face. Those small specks on MF are some folks who successfully made it to the top.

Glad I'm just a photographer shooting from the base..but it is fascinating watching people climb the cliff's all around Smith Rock.

Seeking ultimate knowledge by climbing the unrelenting walls of the Glasgow University Library.

This pullout on the east side (Cody side) of the long tunnel on the Yellowstone Highway in Shoshone Canyon west of Cody Wyoming is for rock climbers. They come to climb the inner canyon walls which are made up of metamorphic and Igneous rocks that date to around 2.6 billion years ago. Geologist call this time period during the Precambrian the Archean Eon. These rocks represent a time when Wyoming was a separate microcontinent called the Wyoming Craton which existed 500 million years before the North American Continent formed. The layered gneissic complex in Shoshone Canyon consists of hornblende mica schist cut by granodiorite and granite pegmatites. These crystalline rocks are favored by climbers.

This is about 30 minutes from my house. There's a picnic shelter on a hill about 1 km from this spot, where we enjoyed the warmth of the winter sun. But then we hiked here and saw this waterfall that is forever in shade during the winter. We visited here last year too. Pretty impressive spot.
