Photo at left shows a team of kayakers and mountaineers from the Greenpeace Water Watch Camp inspecting tributaries of Angat Dam last April 13, when water levels hit the critical 180 meters above sea level (masl) andsupply to 30,000 ha of farmland shuts off. The normal operating level of the dam is 220 masl. Photo at right was taken by Greenpeace last Friday (July 16), when levels reached an historical low of 157.55 despite the rains, triggering interrupted water supply in Metro Manila. This prompted water utility companies to implement a water rationing scheme to address the dwindling volume of water in the reservoir. Angat supplies 97% of Metro Manila's water supply. Charlie Baker to sign the climate bill sitting on his desk. Salem is set to lead in the renewable energy revolution as an Offshore Wind port servicing Cape Cod, the Gulf of Maine, and beyond in NJ, NY, RI, and CT. Gov. Baker remains a leader in renewable energy, but the climate bill is languishing on his desk.

Pat Gozemba, Co-Chair of SAFE, pleaded with the governor, “Governor Baker, on May 18, 2022, fewer than 3 months ago, you raised our hopes right on this pier by announcing your Economic Development Bill that you submitted to the Legislature calling for $45 million for the redevelopment of the Port of Salem. We thank you for that. But that gesture means nothing if you do not NOW sign our Climate Bill H.5060, An Act Driving Clean Energy and Offshore Wind.
