An RSPB reserve, Bempton Cliffs, on the Yorkshire Coast attracts half a million seabirds each year to raise their chicks. Other wildlife calls the reserve home too.
The hard chalk cliffs at Bempton rise are relatively resistant to erosion and offer lots of sheltered headlands and crevices for nesting birds. The cliffs run about 10 km from Flamborough Head north towards Filey and are over 100 metres (330 ft) high at points.

This is part of the Book Cliffs, which stretch for 200 miles in Western Colorado near Grand Junction.
I know this would probably look better at a sunrise or sunset but unfortunately I had to head back to Denver. This was taken on a pullout on the I-70.
The Cliffs are 702 feet high at the highest point and range for nearly 5 miles over the Atlantic Ocean.
From the Cliffs one can see the Aran Islands, Galway Bay, as well as The Twelve Pins, the Maum Turk Mountains in Connemara and Loop Head to the South.
They are home to one of the major colonies of cliff nesting seabirds in Ireland. The area was designated as a Special Protection Area (SPA) for Birds under the EU Birds Directive in 1986 and as a Refuge for Fauna in 1988.
Yet another gorgeous section of the Pembrokeshire coastline, with a beautiful array of colours in the rocks, sea and surrounding grassland.
Early a.m. near Point Bonita Lighthouse in Marin. This is one very steep cliff - you can see the black beach straight down. I was shooting long exposures by myself in the dark here and the gusts of wind made me get low and grab some iceplant on a few occasions.

I've been pretty absent from here lately. It's because I've been quite busy. This past weekend we went to San Diego. It was more of a working getaway because we were there to shoot a vow renewal ceremony. It was an elaborate vow renewal and seemed more like an actual wedding. Between Andrezza and myself, we shot in the neighborhood of 1500 pics! It was quite a bit of work, but we had fun and we got some great images. I'll be sure to share some as we have a chance to go thru them. While there we only had one day to explore around San Diego unfortunately. But we visited the beautiful coastline at a place called Sunset Cliffs. It was gorgeous, with tons of wildflowers, and was indeed the perfect place to catch the sunset. We could have spent so much time there taking pictures! As I have time, you can be sure that I'll be sharing more here.
