This small island on Japan sea is famous for the beautiful coast, making a heaven for many sea birds.
The Cliffs are 702 feet high at the highest point and range for nearly 5 miles over the Atlantic Ocean.
From the Cliffs one can see the Aran Islands, Galway Bay, as well as The Twelve Pins, the Maum Turk Mountains in Connemara and Loop Head to the South.
They are home to one of the major colonies of cliff nesting seabirds in Ireland. The area was designated as a Special Protection Area (SPA) for Birds under the EU Birds Directive in 1986 and as a Refuge for Fauna in 1988.
Cliffs of Moher | Ireland
Several years ago I bought an airline ticket to Ireland on a whim, flew out there with no plans or reservations, and had the most incredible and spontaneous journey. I didn't pack much, just a couple changes of clothes, a GPS, and my camera. I didn't really know what I was doing or where I was going. I had a general direction I wanted to go in but I relied mostly on intuition and my GPS to get me around.
Mono Cliffs Provincial Park. It's not a big park but it tells of important geology along the Bruce Trail in Ontario.
I had a very pleasant hike here in cool fall weather. No bugs, no people, just me and my thoughts (and my camera).
Jenny Dixon Beach Cliffs.
I went out this day chasing the clouds. I think i have captured what they were like that day. They were moving North to South at a very fast pace. The difficulties in this scene were the dark shadows in the cliff as the Sun was in the West and the Sea-Spray splashing directly on me and the filters.
I had to capture 2 images one for the shadows and another for the highlights and then combine them in post so you can see what i could see but the camera cannot in one exposure with out a Graduated Filter.
I also had to keep wiping down my Filters to remove the Sea-Spray.
With all this happening i only had time for 3 frames. I hope you enjoy this image from what i captured.

Cheddar Gorge is a limestone gorge in the Mendip Hills, near the village of Cheddar in Somerset, England. The gorge is the site of the Cheddar show caves, where Britain's oldest complete human skeleton, Cheddar Man, estimated to be 9,000 years old, was found in 1903. Cheddar Gorge, including the caves and other attractions, has become a tourist destination. In a 2005 poll of Radio Times readers, following its appearance on the 2005 television programme Seven Natural Wonders, Cheddar Gorge was named as the second greatest natural wonder in Britain, surpassed only by Dan yr Ogof caves. The gorge attracts about 500,000 visitors per year.
