One sip of the potion and the injuries of the adventurer is healed! And with a bonus effect of getting a clean shave!
Week 9 outtake.
I don’t think I’ll forget this day that easily and I have this project to thank for that. This moment was not only a moment of creation, but it was, above all, a moment of contemplation. After shooting I just stood there, under the pouring rain, unable to move, as I was staring at all the beauty that was falling from the sky and embracing me amidst the singing trees.
Creating does not mean much if you can’t lose your heart and soul in it, sometimes. 🌿
This Tricolored Heron bathed with such enthusiasm that water was sprayed everywhere, and ripples appeared across the otherwise still wetlands.

Another view of a cleansed Chun Yeung Street Market.
Had to use fast shutter speeds to avoid the sparse pedestrians.

Perry's Double Yellow Waterlily in the rain at Chicago Botanic Garden
I was surprised to see waterlilies when I visited CBG 10 days ago. These were the hardy waterlilies that can survive the cold climate.
Where there is rain there is also cleansing. Remember this when you’re trying to protect your soul amidst the storm. - Alfa
This shoot was taken a while ago but uploaded as private. Since I still love it, I decided to repost it as public^^

Turkey vultures don't get as much respect as they should. They're ugly and, as scavengers, they do nature's dirty work. But by eating roadkill and other carcuses, they're actually doing us a favor and keeping down the spread of disease.
They do have a cool scientific name — Cathartes aura — meaning golden purifer or cleansing air. But they've also been viewed as a source of disease and a symbol of death. The "buzzards" in those Westerns circling overhead just waiting for the good guys to croak as they run low on water while traversing some cruel desert are turkey vultures.
On the other hand, non-Europeans have a much more sympathetic, even admiring view of the vulture. According to Native American mythology, the sun was once too close to the earth. A fox tried to move it away and failed. A opossom tried and failed. Finally, a beautifully plumed turkey vulture successfully pushed the sun away with his head, but in the process his feathers burned, and he was made bald for eternity. The Pueblo people of the Southwest saw the turkey vulture as a symbol of purity, and used its feathers to remove evil from people and things.
I found this one at Joe Overstreet Landing in Osceola County, Florida.
Day 248
1. to make clean.
2. to remove by or as if by cleaning
It is a lot more difficult to take photos in the shower than I anticipated. The lens gets fogged up and then you can't focus AND I couldn't find my remote so I was trying to use a timer and it just was not working out for me. BUT HA I GOT ONE. Then I had to go to work, so I couldn't edit this until I was on break and I couldn't post it until I got home. WELCOME TO MY LIFE OKAY!?
And BTW, Morgan Piironen took a lovely photo of me and my prom date. You guys should all go see it, it's worth the time ;) LINK: goo.gl/HtWhwb
Sometimes you just need to get up and get out. Sometimes our minds tell us to not too. Sometimes we don't listen and we go out anyway. This might only happen sometimes, but when it does happen, we always feel cleansed and refreshed...
Went shooting today with a couple Atlanta flickrites: jbwhelchel and brookenovak. Had a great time. Brooke was our "guide" taking us to a couple kick-ass "locations". Check their stuff out and let 'em know you stopped by. The good shooters, but more importantly, they're good people...
During my Sunday excursions, I'll often pause extra long to admire an abandoned country house with a memorable veranda, a homey construction detail you seldom see on modern houses. Those family members walked out to a clean, sweeping prairie view, seldom bothered by anything other than natural sounds and big skies. You wouldn't need to contend with admiring the neighbourhood you might not fancy. Traffic and lawnmowers wouldn't wake you early. No door to door salesman, nor garbage trucks. Truth is you didn't even lock the doors. Your mind was less cluttered, hardly shackled to social media with on demand prompts.
These thoughts helped recall a recent Robert Genn paragraph, as I opened a thermos of tea/biscuits and contemplated how to visually represent my discovery. Then my Blackberry beeped, I laughed….as I formatted my memory card. I felt a rich prairie cleansing, my efficiency was full steam ahead, minus the city sludge.
"Recent studies of teenagers' use of cellphones and other electronic devices have revealed some interesting results. Apparently, if you deprive kids of social networking for a week or so, a high percentage become significantly depressed. They also lose efficiency, will, enthusiasm and sleep. Their marks go down and their lassitude goes up.
For many artists, something similar happens when "the work quotient" is taken from their lives. A couple of unproductive days can send some creative folks into the dumps. They may not even be aware of what's happening to them. "Fear of restart" and permanent creative catatonia can set in after long-term abstinence."
