The Preserve America grant hosted a cemetery marker cleaning workshop led by NCPTT's Jason Church in Hemphill, Texas. The workshop included a Grave Marker Maintenance Presentation and a grave marker cleaning demonstration at the Gasby New Zion Cemetery.

328/366 Friday 23 November 2012 - Really thought I'd be back at work today. Gales yesterday took a big hunk of felt off the roof. Brother came and fixed it. He had to walk to mine and collect my car and then go back and get his tools and some felt. I didn't see any of this as I stayed indoors in the warm. Thank goodness for people who can help. Felt a bit brighter for a shower this evening although my arms ached drying my hair.

Gabor Vasko (gaborvasko.blogspot.com) was kind enough to let me use his camera to shoot Simply Clean, which was interesting, since it was a NIKON haha. Took some getting used to but its definitely better than mine. Anyway, Simply Clean 2010 was as I expected, bigger than everyone expected lol. There were awesome cars parked everywhere. At the gas station, in front of the stores, in front of other cars, it was nuts! Definitely a good time though, the guys at Reign sure know how to put on a show! Im definitely going to be checking out the next show they throw!
The metal parts were easy and I just hit it with some steel wool. There's still paint on the sides, but I'll get that with some turpentine at some point.
Clean out all the plaster -- which is very abrasive -- before going to the next step to keep your drill bit sharp.

Our annual September visit to Newcastle.
Saturday night we started out at The Yard where we met the lovely Chloe. Then we went to see the Ladyboys of Bangkok, and they were amazing as they always are!
We got our picture with them on stage at the half time interval too.
Very funny - they guy on our table got chosen and brought up on stage for one section, and he abviously absolutely loved it!
We finished the night with Ellie in Rusty's bar.

Some people will go to great lengths to clean windows.
Why?
Do they care about how clean people’s windows are?
They do because other people care how clean their windows are, and are therefore prepared to pay them to care.
When it comes to our higher calling though - to enlightenment - we can’t pay anyone else to do the job for us; we are responsible to role up our sleeves and personally clean the window of our consciousness.
Enlightenment means “to see” and as long as the pane of our consciousness is dirty we can’t see what we need to see.
What are we missing with dirty consciousness?
A lot, actually.
Yoga wisdom underlines karma - the reactions to our actions that produce another body for us in the next life - as well as our true identity beyond the body and mind, and relationship to the Supreme for starters.
Then there is the authorised process to revive our relationship with our Surpeme Source, and the ultimate goal: “A love Supreme,” as John Coltrane phrased it.
Cleaning windows is hard work, which is why not many people choose it as an occupation.
Similarly, cleaning the window of our consciousness requires daily eblow grease, as we practice fixing the mind on the Supreme, on Krishna.
Is it worth it?
Graduate yoga text Srimad Bhagavatam replies,
“The supreme occupation [dharma] for all humanity is that by which men can attain to loving devotional service unto the supreme transcendent cause. Only such unmotivated and uninterrupted service can completely satisfy the self.”
I have a darkroom in my basement. (Ok, it's more of a darkcorner, but who's keeping score?) My husband started building a music studio shortly after I got my darkroom set up. This caused ungodly amounts of drywall dust to fly all over the basement and land on all my newly installed darkroom gear: bad news. Since the studio construction is complete, I started to clean up all my stuff which included rinsing off all the film I had developed and had sitting around.
