A rear three quarter view of freshly out shopped 91127. Looking so good, a modern take on the original “Executive” livery the Class wore when first introduced way back in 1989.

In the twilight of their career I was fortunate to get a pair of Gloucester Carriage & Wagon Company built two-car Class 100 diesel multiple units sit at Blaenau Ffestiniog on 12 August 1983.

We were fortunate to ride down from Llaundudno on these. One of the sets was formed of 50356/56111 which I had seen sandwiched between a pair of Class 101 sets on North Wales Coast services a few days earlier.

This sub is not based on any particular real-life design. However, it shares the most DNA with the Italian Adua-class, such as the Gondar. On cold war submarines, a bow bulge holds sonar; here, it's a method to improve seakeeping. An air-filled ballast tank in the nose keeps the flared bow from dipping underwater when the submarine is on the surface. The Delfino is a relatively small and lightly armed submarine. Its design favors stealth and speed over large deck guns or many torpedoes.

Although I have an updated heavy cruiser design almost finished, this is the first new build I'm posting for JFS 3, a Divide and Conquer semi-spinoff set in the Pacific in 1942. I'll be once again playing as Montefalco, my Italian faction.

40122 heads back to Carlisle with an evening freight, near St Helens, Flimby in early 1984 as twilight gathers over the Solway. It was the twilight of the class 40s too, although 40122 - as a celebrity - would be kept going for another four years, by this time the loveable dinosaurs were effectively finished.

She's a bit long and a bit tall for a proper Class A. Maybe it's a weird future version where the Climax didn't die out and became more of a mainline loco. I've always preferred the "Shanty on a Shingle" look of the Class A's to the more polished later versions.

Powered using Tenka Circuit cubes (battery hidden in water tank) with relatively accurate drive line. No slip joints, just happened to get the exact driveline lengths where the slop in the universals allows the engine around turns without binding.
