With British Airways operating large long-haul bases from both London Heathrow and London Gatwick, it is not surprising to see its short-haul fleet and their Boeing 777 fleet transferring between the two.

For British Airways, its their Boeing 777-200ER that consistently transfer between the two bases, except for the 3-class General Electric examples based at London Gatwick, and the 4-class Rolls-Royce based at London Heathrow. Every other Boeing 777-200ER examples are commonly transferred over but that's not to say it doesn't happen.

At present, British Airways are currently in the process of reconfiguring their London Gatwick Boeing 777-200ER fleet with the first currently undergoing treatment in Singapore. The winter is particularly popular time for the Caribbean (great emphasis at London Gatwick) due to the Hurricane season being over.

To compensate for the current refurbishment, British Airways often loan Boeing 777-200ER's over from London Heathrow to compensate for the drop in aircraft allocation. That said, with some destinations seeing a drop in demand during the winter, a 3-class General Electric Boeing 777-200ER has been loaned only briefly to London Heathrow before being returned back to London Gatwick.

Here is the current list of Boeing 777-200ER fleet and their respected bases:

-Gatwick: G-VIIF/O/P/R/T/U/V/W/X/Y, YMMC/D/R/S

-Heathrow: G-VIIA/B/C/D/E/G/H/J/K/L/M/N/S, RAES, YMMA/B/E/F/G/H/I/J/K/L/N/O/P/T/U

Currently, British Airways operates 58 Boeing 777's, which includes 3 Boeing 777-200's, 43 Boeing 777-200ER's and 12 Boeing 777-300ER's. 3 Boeing 777-200's are expected to withdrawn in favour of used 3 Boeing 777-300ER's.

Victor India India Foxtrot is one of 43 Boeing 777-200ER's in service with British Airways, delivered new to the flag-carrier in March 1997 and she is powered by 2 General Electric GE90-85B engines. She was delivered new in Landor colours until August 2002 where she gained BA's latest corporate identity, the Chatham Dockyard Union Jack livery.

Towards the end of their careers, DMU sets were thrown together with whatever was available. DMS number W51141 was allocated to Laira, but the centre car M59387 (class 108) and DMBS M53071 (class 116) were officially still Tyseley based when seen at Temple Meads on 14th May 1993.

In the sidings east of Chadwell Heath station. I remember that afterwards I was challenged by a representative of the firm using the adjacent yard: "Oi! Who gave you permission to take photos? Maybe I should call the police."

"Call them if you like," I replied, protesting my sole interest in the 306s (and not any dodgy dealings that might have been going on).

The Sovremenny class destroyer is the principal anti-surface warship of the Russian Navy. The Soviet designation for the class was Project 956 Sarych (Buzzard).

Its primary role is to attack enemy warships while also providing sea and air defense for warships and transports under escort. It complements the Udaloy-class destroyers in anti-submarine operations.

It was used in the sovjet navy, later until today in the russian navy and China bought some vessels too, which are still in use there.

03 078 at Berwick-upon-Tweed. Before the demise of wagonload freight, even some relatively small stations had a shunting loco, this example being for shunting Tweedmouth yard. The 03 class was once a common sight in eastern England where duties were less onerous and would not justify a more powerful 08. Seen on 2 June 1984.

British Rail Class 69 Co-Co diesel locomotive 69003 as operated by GBRf (GB Railfreight) working a rake of empty JNA box wagons from Mountfield (East Sussex) to Southampton Western Docks at Eastleigh Station in the County of Hampshire (UK).

I think this is a daily GBRf service for the collection of gypsum from the Port of Southampton back to Mountfield.

69003 was originally built by Electroputere S.A. of Craiova, Romania and entered service for British Rail as Class 56, 56018 on August 23rd 1977.

56018 was rebuilt including a new low emission engine and other major improvements by Progress Rail for GBRf then reclassified as Class 69, 69003 in 2021.

Note the 'speed whiskers' which are a tribute to some pre yellow panel British Railways diesel multiple units from the 1950's/1960's.
