CIRCLES have been hard at work promoting their brand of Australian metal worldwide, basking in worldwide press attention since the release of their critically acclaimed debut EP 'The Compass' in May 2011. Throughout 2012 the band have been on the road touring whilst also creating and writing much of their new material.
The result is a debut album that is set to take the band into previously unchartered waters with a fresh sound that is uniquely Circles. Mixing up cutting edge production techniques and innovative progressive metal that pushes the boundaries of the listeners experience, the album is dripping with melody throughout, with hidden elements of electronica , topped off with some of the finest vocal delivery since Mike Patton's lungs arrived on the musical landscape.
Circles debut album will be released on Basick Records in Spring 2013.

- Lake Mývatn ("Lake of the Flies") is located in the north of Iceland in the vicinity of the Krafla volcano. It is the only inhabited place in the highlands since the installation of the Vikings, between the 9th and 20th centuries.
- The lake, the third natural body of water in the country, remains frozen six months of the year. The name of the lake comes from the swarms of insects (Chironomidae) which feed the birds that inhabit the edges of the lake in summer. The area is known to bird watchers for the fifteen species of ducks and other birds that nest there from April. The lake area is 37 km2 - (Wikipedia)
- As for midges ... it's a reality, you absolutely have to protect yourself either with a special lotion or a net on your head ...
- Regarding the fauna, many birds and especially ducks of all types but often very far and not easy to approach ... on the other hand this small bird, lively, fast and real insecticide against midges, it hunts without stopping at an incredible speed, it is the Phalarope with narrow beak and also the very curious lookouts the Gambette knights.

using the 1/2-3/4in ring that you left after cutting out the circle, snip vertically always rotating the block. Your cuts shouldn't be farther than 3/4in. apart, and shouldn't be narrower than 1/2in. 5/8's is ideal. This makes pressing, gluing, and removing the freezer paper later on.
According to Wikipedia, Castlerigg Stone Circle is situated on a prominent hill to the east of Keswick, in the Lake District National Park, North West England. It is one of around 1,300 stone circles in the British Isles and Brittany, constructed as a part of a megalithic tradition that lasted from approximately 3,200 BC to 2500 BC, during the Late Neolithic and Early Bronze Ages.
Various archaeologists have mentioned the beauty and romance of Castlerigg and its surrounding landscape. In his study of the stone circles of Cumbria, archaeologist John Waterhouse commented that the site was "one of the most visually impressive prehistoric monuments in Britain."
Every year, thousands of tourists travel to the site, making it the most visited stone circle in Cumbria. This plateau forms the raised centre of a natural amphitheatre created by the surrounding fells and from within the circle it is possible to see some of the highest peaks in Cumbria: Helvellyn, Skiddaw, Grasmoor and Blencathra.
The stones are glacial erratic boulders composed of volcanic rock from the Borrowdale Volcanic Group. Both andesitic lavas and tuffs (volcanic ashes) are represented. Castle Rigg sits on a deposit of glacial till, and it is likely that the boulders were originally part of this deposit. The stones are set in a flattened circle, measuring 32.6 metres (107 ft) at its widest and 29.5 metres (97 ft) at its narrowest. The heaviest stone has been estimated to weigh around 16 tons and the tallest stone measures approximately 2.3m high. There is a 3.3m wide gap in its northern edge, which may have been an entrance. Within the circle, abutting its eastern quadrant, is a roughly rectangular setting of a further 10 stones. The circle was probably constructed around 3200 BC (Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age), making it one of the earliest stone circles in Britain and possibly in Europe. It is important to archaeoastronomers who have noted that the sunrise during the September equinox (Autumn equinox) appears over the top of Threlkeld Knott, a hill 3.5 km to the east.
The night after the wedding was New Years. So after a few drinks (and a stinking hot day) we had a few more attempts at the long exposure shots.
Most of these shots were 15-25 sec exposures with flash.
