jim made these adorable little pointy shoes (with jingle bells on toe tips!). he made them out of paper clay (with spools for "support beams"). they were intended to hold up a cigarbox shrine that i ended up knocking off a shelf ... and breaking. they hadn't yet been attached because i wasn't convinced they were quite right for the piece. now we'll never know. i'll eventually paint them and try to incorporate into something else.

A pink glass beaded necklace and a blue/multi-colored glass beaded necklace, resting on my favorite Acid cigar box...these ended up on consignment in a local store.
Work in progress: Formerly a Gin Thye mooncake box, will house 24 pens and 2 bottles of ink on completion. Have red felt for lining. Original red lid / photo frame.

I Think I'll Stick with the Camera
For some reason, black and white got me thinking about drawing and that led me to remembering this little cigar box of conte that hasn't seen the light of day for several years. There was a time when Saturday morning life drawing class was my weekly escape and always meant an oddly happy assortment of black smudges all over my hands, wrists elbows and usually the tip of my nose at some point. So I pulled out a stack of 1 minute gesture drawings and revisited my b&w camera/photo setup from last week.
Not sure if I'm entirely thrilled with the angle, but I'm certain my chances of continuing to work on it are higher than the chances of drawing in the near future. Camera - more satisfaction per minute, fraction of the mess.
Lined bottom interior with black faux suede. Left all the exterior and interior markings of the brand intact.
