Even though the audio input jack was really snug, I was trying to think of a way to support the circuit board so that it wouldn't pop out when pushing the power or audio jacks in. Was about to glue a scrap piece of wood, when I happened across this piece of foam. It's very dense [is this what they call "closed-cell"?] and should work fine.

This is funny--missing the upgraded on/off/volume knob--the whole reason I built this thing. I didn't like the silly recessed knob on the original housing that required to hold the unit down (even with the weight of 8 AA batteries installed) and push against the flush knob--very poor design.
As you see, the size of this cigar box is the perfect size to rest an iPhone (or iTouch).
