Okay, I am so sorry. I'm a day late. I'm still Ramadaning! So I hope none of you thought I gave up!
Yesterday I felt ill and stayed home from work to sleep myself better. I'm back and with more energy. :)
Today I'm on day 9, but I'm posting day 8 and day 9 will come later today or tonight! :)
I liked this photo because it gave me a deep meaning.
As I'm learning with any religion, whether it be Christian, Jew, Muslim, Buddhism, etc... The key thing is to love your God(s).
This little plant represents me and all of the other people of the world. We've been weathered, torn, cracked and tested. It shows in our leaves, our stems and our colors, yet we still stand where no one else will. We are all still beautiful. Out of all places, this plant grows in a crack of a wood panel. It is alone, isolated and no other plants surround it. In fact, the only communication it has, is with its God. The reason why this plant hasn't died out is because it's God hasn't allowed it to, thus completing the beautiful relationship between life and faith! Your God will always be there when the rest of the world isn't; even if you're just a 3-leaved plant in a wooden floorboard.
Today, I just finished a book I started yesterday called A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. I don't like to read so I usually listen to them on audio book. So I strapped on my iPod and listened to the rest of it. After it was finished, my only reaction was, "WOW".
It put a couple of things in perspective for me; one being my sincere appreciation of having the advantage of living in America. Here you can be free to say what you want, worship who you want and marry who you want. Here, there is no civil uprisings and we don't have to worry about being blown to bits.
But mostly I've also learned to appreciate suppressed people in the Middle East. Not just the women, but the people in general.
It was such a moving story, and the only reason why I decided to download and listen to it, was because my boss said that one of the characters reminded him of me.
If you haven't read the book, you should really give it a go. I also here a movie about the book will be coming out in 2009!

EXPLORED - Thanks!! Fall 2008 at One Mile Pool.
We have a beautiful municipal park here in Chico...one of the nation's largest. The original Robin Hood with Errol Flynn was filmed amid these towering oaks. Another interesting feature is the concrete pool built in the 1920's. A dam on Big Chico Creek fills the pool during the summer for a unique swimming experience.
7 image HDR at 1EV, tonemapped in Photomatix, finished in CS4.
The image below...posted previously, shows the entire pool.

The unsettled weather of the last few weeks has made for some dramatic skies. This is shot from"Lookout Point" , a vista of Butte Creek Canyon. This area suffered a devastating fire during the summer of 2008...nice to see it's beauty restored. Not HDR...but a blend of two images...one exposed for the sky....the other for the canyon.
EXPLORE March 8, 2009. Bidwell Park is one of the things that makes Chico special. One of it's claims to fame is that the original Robin Hood movie with Errol Flynn was filmed here. Anyway, the freeway cuts through through the park as a raised roadway at one point and all the concrete is decorated with tree branches and wildlife...which has since been grown over...caught at sunset tonite. Sorta took the weekend off...I'll catch up on your pics soon! View On Black

I'm off for a week to camp with my mother, and three young boys. Everyone else will join us next weekend for boating and 4th of July activities. I'll be able to watch your streams on my iphone but I'm not sure how much internet access I'll be able to come up with. :) Hopefully,I'll come back with some worthwhile images!

Oh, you played with his heartstrings
And you played without a care
But not up in the High Sierra
You won't play his heart out there...

I had always wanted to visit the Sierra Nevada Brewing company in Chico, Ca. and it did not disappoint...

...and for dessert this evening, our Sous Chef, Antoine has prepared a lovely 3 carat princess cut diamond, lightly drizzled in "Will You Marry Me"... May I also suggest an old fashioned, "Yes"?
Matt and I went to dinner tonight at the India Star Restaurant. I'm going to squash rumors before they start. He did not propose to me. LOL. The box I'm using is the box his brother used for his fiance. I've had this idea for a photo for a while, and I'd thought I'd take advantage of a good photo opp. moment.
I created the card by using the back of a business card and glue-sticking the piece of paper I typed out to the back of the card.
Voila! Instant proposal! ^_^ It's not mine, but feel free to use the idea!

Sort of an artistic treatment of a ...freeway overpass! That's right...

Christmas is my favorite season. Cliche I know, but really it is! Everything from the freezing cold weather, to the irritated shoppers, to the warm fuzzies you feel while bundled up drinking a hot beverage. Mostly the Christmas carols excite me. I have a list of top 3 Christmas carols I favor out of all the rest. Carol of the Bells is #1 for me. What's your favorite Christmas Carol?
*SQUEAL!!!! I got my letter the other day and I was so excited that I spent a day thinking about what I should do. When I opened the envelope, even the hearts were scented! ^_^

I originally was going to use a Chanel No. 5 Bottle, but I didn't have one. :o)
Hey guys. I've been out for a while taking care of some personal stuff. I haven't left and I've been keeping track of all your awesome posts. I just haven't had time to upload or comment on any of yours. :) Things should settle down here shortly and I'll be back to share and comment on your posts. :) See you soon!!!! ♥ Me!
I took this real fast to let you all know I'm still alive. They're those wall stickers that are now a popular decorating item. I like coming home to this on my wall! :D
I'm still fasting and still doing my thing... I'll be back shortly!
Is this a storm cloud? No, this his a huge FIRE CLOUD from the 25,000 acre Humboldt fire burning wildly just north of Chico. The fire started yesterday around 12pm and as of today, all roads leading into Paradise are now closed to those who wish to go home. Evacuations are in order for Paradise residents. You are allowed to leave, but you can't go home. This cloud has neatly wrapped itself 180 degrees around the City of Chico. Just how big is it? All I did was step out onto my street snap. Who says second hand smoke doesn't kill?
Last night we had sushi for dinner. I haven't had it in a while and I was completely overdue!
I can't remember it ever tasting so good!
This one is the Firecracker Roll, and man-oh-man is it spicy!!!
UPDATE!: Okay, so I made it somewhere on Explorer with this photo. But I just spent 2 hours trying to find it. I couldn't, so I'm just going to believe everyone that I'm on there somewhere. ^_^ This being said, my day has been made!!!! This is my first photo to ever make it up there with the Pros! I'm now going to go bask in the glory and drink all the Champagne I can get. Thank you so much guys!!!!!

This is Samson. He was my birthday present this year! I rather cuddle a $1000.00 puppy, than a $1200.00 camera. At least I can hold off until Christmas! ♥
I didn't do quite as good as job as I did with Balian's mosaic, but it was a little harder for him to stay still for a photo. After all, I did scare him half to death moments earlier. I laughed so hard I cried. It was mean, but my intentions were to scare Matt, which I did as well.
I needed a Ramadan break, and I thought you may have needed one too!
