I live just round the corner from the Cherry Blossom Tattoo Studio here in Essex and the owner was outside with his Chevrolet Advance Design pickup truck, so I quickly ran back home, grabbed my camera and got him to pose for me. This is 3 exposures with -1+ stops bracketing, then Photomatix for HDR and tonemapping, and finally Photoshop for the selective colour and finishing touches.

This is from a photo shoot I did for a friend's band. They're called The Kopy Kats and cover a lot of The Stray Cats songs so we decided to do a version of one of their album covers. The light conditions weren't perfect with sunlight streaming through the trees close to the abandoned building we used, I'd have preferred a bit of cloud cover, but I think it turned out ok in the end!

I tried this photo a week before with a tree in the background, and it just didn’t work. I posted the photo simple because it was unique, but now that I have this image? I like that other photo even less! LOL. I love the balance of color and detail and the overall saturation as well!

While watching the Chip Foose show Overhaulin' on TV where one of their car re-dos was painted this color, the owner of this truck knew he had to have it for his pickup. So, he makes a phone call to the show, and gets the exact color needed to finish his restoration on this beautiful 1957 Chevy Step Side pickup.
