One of my favorite styles of classic vehicle 'restoration' is the "rust bucket" style with just enough rust, scuffs, blemishes, and flaws to make the car (or truck) more interesting. In this case, the addition of the name on the door (Rust Bucket Antiques) just makes it that much better! And, I would suspect even though I couldn't see under the hood, that the mechanical side of this truck is as solid as it was the day it rolled off the assembly line in 1956 (and probably even better in the horsepower department)! Just a great old Chevy pick-up done right!!
Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D5200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.

Who doesn't love a beautiful, rusty, old truck?!? (And from what I can tell, the outside is the only thing that is old or rusty about this one...under the hood looks strong!)

Happy Truck Thursday! I found this nice 3100 Chevy in front of the Oak Barrel Cafe while traveling I-68 to National Harbor. Since noone inside knew the year, I would guess a 1954 vintage?
Oak Barrel Cafe is located right off I-68, Exit 72, in the scenic mountains of Western Maryland. Proudly serves homemade bakery items and fresh deli. Menu includes Antibiotic Free Chicken, Never frozen and hand-pattied burgers. Check out their unique gifts, candies, jams & jellies. At Oak Barrel, you will also find a good selection of craft beer, local wines, and fine spirits.
Part of the Allegany County Ice Cream Trail, this charming cafe goes above and beyond convenience-stop fare with a spectacular food menu, complete with all the ice cream classics, including soft-serve ice cream cones and cups, specialty sundaes, coffeehouse chillers, milkshakes, floats, smoothies, and more!
1951 or '52 Chevy 3100 ½-ton "Advance Design" pickup lounges on a strip mall roof near former Route 66 (Central Ave) in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
I could find no info online on this rooftruck or it's placement history. Despite its "Atlas Van Lines" detailing I could uncover nothing associating Atlas with the site. The tenant pylon for the strip mall headlines "Iglesia Profética Tabernaculo de ABBA, Visión de Águila" ("Prophetic Church Tabernacle of ABBA [a term for god], Eagle Vision"), with "Top Tier Barber Shop" listed further down... but nothing vehicle-related.
