Numa região tão dominada por pinhais é raro e belo encontrar um bosque de folhosas tão vivaço como este, já no concelho de Mogadouro. Aparenta ser um antigo souto ou castinçal em regime de talhadia. Independentemente da sua origem, é neste momento um bosque naturalizado, que beneficia a paisagem e a biodiversidade.

Samels Farm is located just outside of Traverse City, Michigan in the town of Williamsburg. The site has been declared a Pioneer Farm and has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Samels Farm has an extensive collection of antique farm equipment which is housed in the machine shop, barn, and other outbuildings, as well as diverse flora and fauna in the fields and woodlands surrounding the farm.

The Samels Farm Heritage Society, in keeping with the generous spirit of the Samels’ Family Trusts, is dedicated to preserving the farm’s open-space, waterfront, woodlands, buildings, and other physical effects.
