A very magical place. The chataigneraie contains some of the oldest chestnut trees in Europe--anywhere from 700 to over 1000 years old. The Fundazione di Corsica manages 10 acres of these trees. For more information on the Fundazione see: www.afcumani.org/

I love this tree, I have taken bunches of pictures of it. It is a chestnut of some sort, I love the textures on its trunk. The circley shapes.
On a sunday afternoon walk I was fascinated by the impressive shadows cast by the old chestnut trees.
Samels Farm is located just outside of Traverse City, Michigan in the town of Williamsburg. The site has been declared a Pioneer Farm, and has also been placed on the National Register of Historic Places due to the Native American artifacts discovered - some from about 9,000 B.C.
In addition to the extensive collection of antique farm equipment which is housed in the machine shop, barn, and other outbuildings, Samels Farm also has acres of sprawling farmland, woodlands, and waterfront access.

360° panorama I took standing in the middle of the road this evening at sunset. The sun was setting almost directly down the road, making for a nice glow at the end of the road.
My favourite tree. The park is used for a number of festivals during the year - a summer carnival and fun fair, a big fireworks night in November, a 'Green' fair - this tree must have seen so many festivities over its long life. One of the ancient Chestnut trees in Carshalton Park, planted early in the seventeenth century to provide fodder for livestock.

A chestnut tree blooming in autumn. Blossom, chestnuts, green and autumn leaves on it reminds me a fairytail about twelve brothers-monthes.
