In this beautiful Marais neighbourhood (Paris 4e) in June the linden trees (tilleuls) fill the air with their inebriating scent.
This superb fountain had a checkerd history: first erected in 1549 by Jean GOUJON to celebrate the entrance in Paris of King Henri II, it subsequently moved twice before the current llocation, last time in 1858.
The fountain found the present quadrangular plan designed by architect Augustin PAJOU in 1788.

I didn't use inlays but two different papers, only one with flaps, to achieve a similar effect on two of the sides. The other two consist only of the checkerd pattern.

Got up early to drive to San Jose for the Vex Motorsports black friday sale. Picked up a quick release and Broadway mirror for the daily. I have to wait till Monday for my Funcion 7s because they didn't have any in. Then we went to the mall and then home to my package of OMP wheel, Checkerd Sports boss hub and OMG gloves! Got the JDM ITR wheel off and the new setup on in just the 30 minutes I had before. I have NO patience. I had to have it installed before work or it would bug me ALL day.
Have a nice day!

Yesterday, Dave and I visited Hot Dougs, for some delightful hot-dogs. I, of course, went with the Chicago-style vegetarian dog, and it was so good! YUM!

Rubber rabbitbrush is one of the last actively flowering species in the sage steppe at Seedskadee NWR. As a result, a large number of pollinators can be found on this species in late September and early October. Here, the common checkerd skipper was nectaring on it. I believe this one is a male, with blue hairs basally. It is the most widespread and common skipper, found from high to low elevations, and often using disturbed habitats, before heading south.
