Since it had been a long time since I'd seen a doctor, and the doctor I'd seen once at the practice that took us two years to get into left recently, I thought I'd make an appointment to meet the new doctor and request some routine bloodwork.

A couple months ago they started to run this up to Trenton once a week for check-ups. It is under the clinic direction of an APN, we thought that was a Nurse Practitioner, and maybe she is but she has the letters, APN for “Advanced Practice Nurse”. We had to look up what an APN was. We noticed the big dish on the top, I thought it was to connect with the computer back in KC, in a way it is, just not like I thought. The gal that is there is an RN, I think, and she does the “hands on “ work and the APN is back in KC looking on by a big screen TV monitor. It is weird to say the least. She even listens to my heart and lungs as the RN places the listening thing around on different places. It’s in real time and we can talk back and forth. I don’t take any of their drugs or shots but it’s just to stay in the system, in case my little truck gets feisty and runs me over again.
Before most Goddard spacecraft components are cleared for launch, they go through final checkups in one of many of the center's clean room facilities. The largest, the High Bay Clean Room, can accommodate two space shuttle payloads at one time.
The High Bay Clean Room, often called the world's largest, prevents dirt, dust and other contaminants from damaging spacecraft components, especially sensitive and carefully calibrated instruments. For example, unlike personal digital cameras, a smudge or speck of dust on the lens of a space telescope is extremely difficult -- if not impossible -- to clean, especially once the spacecraft reaches orbit a few hundred miles up.
A robust ventilation system and an entire wall of air filters help protect against these contaminants. The clean room ventilation system circulates almost one million cubic feet of air every minute through 9,000 square feet of HEPA filters located along one wall. The filters are not your typical off-the-shelf HEPA variety from the local home improvement store. These are specially designed to last several decades.

Kanpei went for his medical checkup at the world famous hospital in Tehran. Hamid is escorting us from today. He is the new supporting coordinator. We do not have his photo yet. He looks like 55 years old, but actually 44. His face looks like Kakuta referee in K-1. Broad shoulder, but round body shape, so I can't judge weather he is strong fighter or not. He has a mild smile and he speaks broken Japanese.
As soon as we arrived to the hospital, because their restriction, we have to give up our camera and went down to its basement.
We entered to a examination room and we saw the old guy, 'Ossan', coming out from the bathroom on the side with a mop in his hand.
Ossan: " I will draw your blood here ! " taking off his gloves.
Kanpei looked at me and said with his eye expression " Don't tell me this Ossan is the doctor ! "
Hamid showed up and suddenly told us " Get the letter out. You should have a letter. "
Tsuj-ji: " We haven't heard about any letter ! "
Hamid: " That's wrong ! Bring it out ! "
Kanpei is stunned!
Hamid started to call by his cell phone and went out.
Tow of us left alone with the Ossan with a mop. Ossan started to prepare the blood drawing. He open up his desk and there were more than 100 of syringes.
Ossan prepared with brisk efficiency, and started to draw the blood.
Kanpei: " Woe ! I don't feel any pain at all. This Ossan is something else ! "
Ossan: " I have drawn the blood for more than 20 years ! I am a pro ! I've drawn the blood form more than a million people. I am the blood drawing champion ! Come again! "
The surprising his process will be on the video.

Najma (24) and her children, a year old daughter Anum, 5-year old son Qurban and another 7-year-old daughter Sanam, came for the checkup at UNICEF supported medical camp in flood affected Mohammad Dani village, District Lasbela, Balochistan province, Pakistan. Photographer: UNICEF/Asad Zaidi
Najma is a resident of Mohammad Dani village, union council Bela, District Lasbela, Balochistan. District Lasbela of Balochistan was hit by flash floods on July 25, 2022. Distressed by the rains, homes, lives, and livelihoods were swept away by the flashfloods while many were either asleep or in the process of waking up. One of the millions displaced by these merciless waters are Najma and her children, a year old daughter Anum, 5-year old son Qurban and another 7-year-old daughter Sanam.
The misery for Najma does not stop here, as today she walked into a health camp set up by UNICEF to consult a doctor for herself and her children. It has been nearly a week since Najma has fever and about two weeks since her children developed rashes on their skin and scalp. “I took the medicine that helped subside the fever for one day, but it keeps coming back,” she explains. “And same for my children... the doctor gave medicine that healed the rashes, but they form again. It seems as if a calamity saw our home and now refuses to leave us.”
“My daughter Anum is not well and is growing week every day. The doctor says she is too weak and needs treatment from a health facility. But I cannot go there. I do not have any money or the strength to walk that far,” adds Najma sounding as if she is giving up. “I do not have anything to give to my daughter… the doctor said this weakness can risk my daughter’s life… what do I do? What can I do? Nothing,” continues Najma as she delves into a self-talk… as if standing at crossroads, try to solve the dilemma that has her child at the risk of losing her life at the hands of severe acute malnutrition.

Mordecai in for a checkup and lab work. Turns out he's a very "Healthy Fat". He gets "Violent with the Vet" and has a "Long Rap Sheet", but the professionals know how to handle him.
At 22lbs he set a record for largest cat at our Vet. He used to be an indoor/outdoor cat, free feeding in the neighborhood. Now he's indoor only. We've been trying to help him shed some pounds since last November, with no luck, despite a healthy diet and limited daily caloric intake.

She gained 20 ounces in 10 days. The doctor said "she's gaining 2 ounces per day and that's awesome."
She's growing fast. Both their heights increased by two inches since their last checkups. The difference is, it's been six months since his, and only two for her. And her weight went from the 5th percentile to the 9th percentile, his weight's the exact same!
Duncan Gets a Checkup
Tonight I had to take Duncan to Banfield for his routine checkup and to get two required shots. He’s such a brave trooper… he did great. But while we were there, another family was going to through that terrible time when they had to say goodbye to a beloved family member. Be it a dog or a cat or a bird… we invite our pets into our homes and they become a member of the family. They see us at our worst, bring out our best, and our time with them is never as long as we wish it could be.
