These were planted outside the hospital where I went for a cardio. checkup today. They cheered up everyone who passed by, who can resist yellow flowers.
(All went well, don't have to go back for 6 months.)
Since November 2015 I have cared for my tracheostomy whilst I navigated my way through procedures and checkups and scans and medical appointments. in return my tracheostomy kept me alive, providing a clear and safe airway. My natural airway had been taken over by chondra sarcoma. Recently I had major surgery to remove Mr. Sarcoma and to rebuild my airway.
This morning my relationship with my tracheostomy ended. I was officially given the all clear to have it removed and, gratifyingly, I was also given permission to remove it myself under supervision.
I feel liberated. But strangely, I miss my lifeline. Lost and gained all in one action .....

I'm now 6 months pregnant. It was a quick visit. I got a lot of paperwork for childbirth classes and hospital check in.
Part of my abandoned Air Force Base series. This military town had everything from a once state of the art hospital to schools, theatre, bowling alley, church, EVERYTHING. Lighting applied with Coast HP5.
Everything is looking fine. No new growths and no change in the nodules still present in his lungs. Cindy Frick said these are probably just scar tissue from the cancer cells not absorbed by his body. Not Growing, so still in remission!
We should get a call soon from the Gamma Knife team to go back for Brain MRI's to determine how that procedure went.
Sorry We haven't been around. My Family and I are dealing with our family business in crisis. Its bad, It has been tough, but if we can get through this without killing each other....
I had to have a checkup on Tuesday and the Doctors office had the most beautiful Rhododendron out in front... I just had to have a picture of it to share... I would love to have one like this in my yard but I don't know the name and besides I don't really have the room either...
Taken at my dental checkup can't tell I had just had a filling my hand is solid as a rock which is not usual. I took the camera bag in with me thinking I wouldn't have the nerve (do you see what I did there ) to ask if I could take a photo. Note the hurried exit of dentist and dental nurse.
Ok the news today was promising. Dev's cancer number is continuing to fall this time to 8. IDK if the 8 number is actually picking up on the cancer in his brain. So what they are saying is they believe cancer is NOT active in his lungs. A bit of Good news right?

Being a newborn in Holland, it sets you out on a track of periodical tests and checkups. Growth, weight, reflexes and development...
Dental Checkup
Today was my 6-month dental checkup and cleaning. That's Dr. Butler's hygienist Natalie behind me after she's done and we're waiting on Dr. Butler to look me over. She says I'm easy because I take good care of my teeth. That means, floss!
This morning our power was out when we woke up so we got ready by candlelight. It certainly made for an interesting morning.
Around Noon Julie called me to tell me that Alec had his car towed. I didn't quite understand where it was that it got towed from her information. But he ended up calling me and I learned that it was on campus near the big McDonalds. He learned the expensive lesson about parking on campus! So, I left work early and picked him up at Morrill Tower where he was hanging out with his latest girlfriend. We swung by a Chase machine so he could get out the $140 cash to get his car back then went to Fumble Recovery to get it. Expensive lunch for him!
Since I had a window of time I stopped at the NutriMost Worthington office and bought Julie some of their lotion.
I stopped at home to check on things since the power was restored. I moved some gear into the house from the car then left to go to my dental appointment.
After my appointment I went back home and watched the Mid-Season Finale and the Mid-Season Debut episodes of The Walking Dead while I ate my dinner. I started making tomorrow's meals and washing all the dishes, cookware, and food containers. I also started the laundry. Alec ended up driving Julie home from work so I was able to get all the meals done and packed, dishes clean, and trash taken out. I finished the laundry shortly after she got home.
I was a fairly productive spouse today!
Just a girl getting her HRT checkup. My blood pressure was slightly higher than normal. When my doctor asked why, I told her I had to change afterwards for a church broadcast. She was appalled and replied, you need be yourself the best way you know how. Then she asked me to come back in three months instead of six. Guess it’s a trans thing. ☮️💜
Still aiming to complete this project by 2020 I happened upon another stranger today, this encounter however was more about communication than the resulting photograph. I had been to the local surgery for that “you are getting old so it’s time for an MOT” checkup.
Having seen the nurse and it being a lovely sunny morning I decided to sit outside a small cafe opposite and enjoy a relaxing 10 minutes. Soon after I had seated myself I spotted Jayne walking across to the cafe as well, with some of the other tables occupied I asked her if she would care to join me to pass some time, and she readily agreed saying she had half an hour to wait from her grandfather she had taken in to the surgery.
So this is Jayne - and unlike most of us she knows when she is going to die. It is now 2 years since she was told that the cancer had complete destroyed her left lung and her right would only last another 4 years at the most. Along with cancer and a number of other conditions such as Raynaud’s and Neurological diseases Jayne is not long for this world and yet is probably more alive than a lot of people I know.
The initial shock of diagnosis was obviously a hammer blow, especially as she was told there was no chance of survival or cure, but her determination to live her life to the fullest was great to listen to. Last weekend she probably visited Silverstone for the F1 grand Prix for the 10th and last time, and her bucket list of 30 is slowly being worked through although with only one lung her perfect list had to be modified because of the restriction on air travel. Next up is the indoor skydiving centre even though she expects it will wipe her out for a few days. Her funeral has been carefully planned, no dull or maudlin and boring ceremony for Jayne, she has found the casket she wants, the F1 checkered flag signalling the end of the race has been purchased and all the plans are in place - even down to personal letters to friends.
Does this photograph rank as a “good" shot from me? No, not at all, I have taken many much more flattering shots, but it will become a very memorable shot for me and a particularly memorable encounter. She took her glasses off very briefly for this shot as she suffers from Migraine as well and in that brief instant I think you can see that this is not a women whose life is ebbing away. Hopefully Jayne will get in touch as we did talk about taking some proper portraits with a make up artist in the not too distant future, hopefully when she sees the shots here she won’t be too disappointed.

We held a deworming and health education seminar at La Main Tendre Orphanage and Hands Together to Defend the Children Orphanage. A total of more than 60 children were treated in one day!
We also assessed health at the orphanages and will soon return to address any further health issues.

We went to see Dr. Madden for Devons checkup. The news is odd and again quite fucking scary!
The tumor markers are higher than the 5 that I quoted last time. They are 26. Now we have seen this number very high before, like in the 50,000 to 75,000 range so IDK. The Nurse Practitioner Cindy Frick said this is confusing because Devon's Torso MRI says no changes. Dr. Dial, The Gamma Knife team, already had an appt. for another Brain MRI scheduled for next month but they've changed it to get him in earlier.
I want to cuss!
I knew this number was rising. I remember that after the first couple of checkups the number was 1. I wrote it that day on flickr. Then the next couple of checkups the number was 5 and everyone convinced me that it was always 5. OK Now the number is 26. Dammit.
