Ideally, I would like to have captured sun rays through the arch but November isn't the best time of the year to do that. The best time is in February (or so I've heard).
Though there weren't any sun rays, other interesting things were going on. The coolest, was when the wall of the arch lit up ... almost like it was on fire. Sadly, I didn't get any good shots of it. *heavy sigh*
So I pulled up this shot {SOOC in comments} as I liked the view through the arch after the sun had set. The color in the sky had potential. As you can see, I had to do an extravagant amount of sliding to pull out the detail in the rocks and the water.

Often, for me, light is reason enough to click the shutter. Diagonal swooshes and patterns at play joined on the vertical plane draws my eye and makes me stop and consider. Textures and colors add substance for visibility, a louvered window adds insterest, an anchor and together with slight nuances of color, it is enough. Click.

Sunrise's are a dime a dozen! Just another cliched sunrise caught at "Sunrise Park!" Where else would you go to capture one? Maple leaves in silhouette just an added attraction!
Running off to the city to hang with Jackie for the day! I'll be checkin' in later this afternoon!

A couple of weeks ago I took part in a B&W print workshop at The Photo Parlour in Nottingham. With tuition and guidance from master printer John Blakemore I was able to produce a couple of prints from my New55 negs. I had an amazing time 😄

Located near Widnes in North West of England, Fiddler’s Ferry power plant began generating enough electricity to power 2m homes in 1973. A slow and steady rise for better renewable energy and to the country hoping to become carbon-neutral led to it's inevitable demise and was officially closed on 31st March 2020. One of the last coal burning power stations in the UK.

So very sorry to post and run. Heading to the first full day of work and must not be late!! Today is the old man's birthday -- 52!!! YIKES! So busy day ahead. I will catch up to all this evening!

A crazy array of architectural wonder poses challenges for framing. Reflections play with reality while reality does it's own dance with shapes and angles that almost defy logic. Muted colors help sort things a bit. Horizontal plays with vertical and that plays with diagonals of every sort. Shapes repeat forming patterns that fold upon themselves throughout the image. It's an art institute - go figure.

primordial world lives in my imagination, draped in rainbow colors and swirling mists. Light reveals shapes that form ridges of repetition that invite exploration. Mood permeates the shot. Interpretation is up to each viewer. The universe holds many stories and realities.

An old fishing boat wears years of multiple repairs to its surface as it sit in disrepair at dock. But wait! A vibrant color palette draws my eye. Designs dance across the surface without rhyme or reason - except to be. The frame forms including wonderful shapes and textures. Weights and balances are in harmony. Art is found.
