Dites bonjour au printemps! Say hello to spring!

Fall is beautiful. The golden sunsets and crisp air are perfect for getting ready for the holidays. This little field is right on my way home. I just missed the most beautful sunset. The tail end of it is in the distance... :(

Finding an image for "Push the Sliders" was very easy for me! I am guilty of this and proud of it! SOOC is rarely what I 'thought' I saw!!

Jackie and I raced to where we could get the sunset before it was gone. The best spot we found was naturally taken by two other photographers sitting up on a peak, with camp chairs, tripods and beverages. Don't you hate how others are always prepared? We considered knocking them out and stealing their spot ... and beverages ... but settled for a spot off to the side. It really was a spectacular sunset!!

Happy Slider Sunday!

"It had to do with how it felt to be in the wild. With what it was like to walk for miles with no reason other than to witness the accumulation of trees and meadows, mountains and deserts, streams and rocks, rivers and grasses, sunrises and sunsets.

It had nothing to do with gear or footwear or the backpacking fads or philosophies of any particular era or even with getting from point A to point B.

The experience was powerful and fundamental. It seemed to me that it had always felt like this to be a human in the wild, and as long as the wild existed it would always feel this way."

— Cheryl Strayed, Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail

“Sublime places repeat in grand terms a lesson that ordinary life typically introduces viciously: that the universe is mightier than we are, that we are frail and temporary and have no alternative but to accept limitations on our will, that we must bow to necessities greater than ourselves.

This is the lesson written into the stones of the desert and the ice fields of the poles. So grandly is it written there that we may come away from such places not crushed but inspired by what lies beyond us, privileged to be subject to such majestic necessities. The sense of awe may even shade into a desire to worship.”

A strong vertical line anchors the image and lets my eye luxuriate in textures, shapes and details. Curls and curves give a feel of motion and the neutral color palette lets each nuance have its moment of attention. A tree makes art.

Remove individualism and dehumanize; sever connections, provide basic necessities, assume responsibility; control their habitat and restrict their movement; divide.

Went on my photoshoot yesterday and as I prepared to leave when it was getting on towards dusk; the clouds lit up spectacularly and it was just too beautiful to just up and leave! So I stayed another two hours!

I caught this spider in his web as I was laying in the sand shooting the lake, the dunes and the city; panning my lens around ... and into the viewfinder popped this little guy. I wasn't even thinking of a worms-eye view for today; and I haven't done one for a while. I had a lot to choose from and I just love how the webs caught the light!

Happy Worms-eye View Sunday everyone! Heading up to Great Lakes to pick up Rachel for the day. Seeing both my girls in one weekend is *happy happy joy joy*. But that means 4 hours of driving today. *heavy sigh* I've driven so much lately I feel like a long-haul trucker!

Haruki Murakami's— "On Seeing the 100% Perfect Girl One Beautiful April Morning" #💕☔#🌿☁

...

One beautiful April morning, in search of a cup of coffee to start the day, the boy was walking from west to east, while the girl, intending to send a special-delivery letter, was walking from east to west, but along the same narrow street in the Harajuku neighborhood of Tokyo. They passed each other in the very center of the street. The faintest gleam of their lost memories glimmered for the briefest moment in their hearts. Each felt a rumbling in their chest. And they knew:

She is the 100% perfect girl for me.

He is the 100% perfect boy for me.

But the glow of their memories was far too weak, and their thoughts no longer had the clarity of fouteen years earlier. Without a word, they passed each other, disappearing into the crowd. Forever.

A sad story, don’t you think?

Yes, that’s it, that is what I should have said to her. .
